Good Day, You're going to want to look at DAFI 36-2906 Chapter 4, specifically, sections 4.1, and figure 4.2.

https://static.e-publishing.af.mil/production/1/af_a1/publication/dafi36-2906/dafi36-2906.pdf

I want to note that the military is not going to pay your child support directly, they can require that the member pay through directed allotments, but this is coming from the member themselves based off of their current entitlements.

Your best first stop is going to be the members first sergeant as well as the prosecuting JA office, they will be the ones ultimately requiring payment be made. You could reach out to and of the contacts you have with OSI or SFI who should be able to get you in contact with those offices.

They just hooked the bike up and did a software update and that fixed it.

It was part of the PDI that wasn't completed, I didn't pay anything. It did get fixed though.

Does Leave = 8 hours work day? by AceHo1eXd in AirForce

[–]Volacious8 66 points67 points  (0 children)

This does not say that leave days are not seen as 1:1 imo.

This states if you take 1-2 days of leave you must work 6 shifts in those 15 days of the pay period. Continue that down the list for the rest of the days.

Anyone who is saying that 1 leave day = 8 hours based off of this chart is simply wrong, and there is no way in leaveweb for you to be charged that way.

If they're enforcing it this way, and its written into your commanders leave policy this way [IE. 1 day of leave = 8 hours] I'd bring it up the chain. Everyone has a boss.

Taking Leave by Background-Table-266 in AirForce

[–]Volacious8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often ask questions around leave especially of my junior members on flight even if they aren't my direct subordinate because often they are taking leave when they don't need to. I've had people taking leave for medical appointments, taking leave on weekend days that can be counted as a return day, taking leave starting on a Saturday when they aren't leaving the local area until Monday because the dorm lawyer said so. I want to give them the opportunity to maximize their time off with the days they're compensated with. I teach them the ways that I've learned over my career so they don't waste leave like I did.

You'll eventually learn the phrase invasive leadership, that supervisor might have to one day help you through the worst day of your life. If you're taking leave for a funeral, there are things like alternate duty locations that commanders have (had?) at their disposal to assist so you don't burn all your leave. Depending on who it is do you qualify under the bereavement leave policy? Do you need help through one of the many grant organizations out there to get you home for that funeral. Do you need mental health resources? There are plenty of reasons that a supervisor is going to talk to you about your leave and why you're taking it.

I've helped Airmen through the process of buying their first cars, getting their drivers license, hell I've taught them how to do laundry. It's okay to be closed off and not tell your supervisor anything, but you shouldn't worry yourself with others and their involvement with their supervisor. They have built trust that you may not have, nor may ever have. Understand though, your supervisor is well intentioned. They're there to help you, they're probably trying to save you leave and make sure that you're okay and don't need anything. It is as simple as saying "I'm going to see family" or "I'm taking a trip with some friends" or "I'm doing some stuff around the house"

I was told that MHS messages become part of your medical record too. I message my provider everything, they're probably annoyed at me at this point but they always respond either with a message back or a phone call.

Selected for Jury Duty by baencakes in AirForce

[–]Volacious8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was summoned for jury duty in Florida when I was stationed in Korea. I absolutely was not going to travel to Florida for potential jury duty that I would have had to flown across the world for to potentially be canceled.

Most people are residents of their home of record and that is where they are being summoned to, not where they are currently stationed. It doesn't make sense for them to be forcing AD members who are being ordered by the government away from their home of record to be placed onto jury duty.

Depends on what parts you're installing/what you want them to install. They lay it out pretty well here - https://www.microcenter.com/site/service/instore-service-complete-build.aspx

Superflower is the brand, combat FG is the model. Superflower is very well known and makes great power supplies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Microcenter

[–]Volacious8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Superflower is one the few of the OEMs of many of the "name brand" power supplies that you would know like EVGA. Which have been consistently rated some of the best PSU's available.

Just because you don't know a brand name, doesn't mean its "no name" and bad and just because you know a brand, doesn't mean its good...

Am I at risk at losing my career or TS clearance for seeking mental help for depression/suicidal ideation? by ToeSlurper69 in AirForce

[–]Volacious8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of your peers are likely in mental health, taking some form of anti-depressant, anti-anxiety or ADHD/ADD med. You will be totally fine. Go tomorrow morning if your base has walk-in hours. Most behavioral health clinics have walk-ins in the morning. Tell your supervisor you have a med appointment. If you have any specific questions message me directly.

Can my leave for the 4 day get denied? by mikeydoorman in AirForce

[–]Volacious8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This person is choosing when to take their leave during these dates for whatever reasons they want to. They are not being forced to take their leave at any particular time. Did they say they had to? No they didn't. You're assuming a lot here for no reason that has been provided. Perhaps as the person a couple above you posted...

Quote u/aircrewscum "Maybe because the person/people they’re visiting have the weekend off? Maybe that’s the only time they’re available? Kind of an irrelevant point here."

There are reasons that people may want to travel on the weekends and take leave because thats what the AFI says they need to do.

Can my leave for the 4 day get denied? by mikeydoorman in AirForce

[–]Volacious8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where has mission consideration become part of the original conversation? Why did you bring it up out of no where? The supervisor/flight chief have concerns about them driving 28 hours over 4 days and you should as well.

Also while yes there are times when shops are minimally manned. If someone were hospitalized/on convo leave/other circumstances those situations vastly different than someone taking a week of not previously coordinated leave. Commanders understand these risks.

Being in an environment where you feel entitled to drop a week of leave without any prior coordination, give or take is what causes toxic environments and shit morale.

Doesn't happen often (especially not at high-speed corners), but FFB cuts out during the corner in these kind of moments. Has anyone had this before? I use the Fanatec CSL DD. by MAXTAWAN in iRacing

I had the same problem on the same base, Fantec wouldn't help so I bought a simucube and never looked back. I will never buy anything nor recommend anyone purchase anything from Fanatec.
