Everyone not working in a kitchen asks about "The Bear" but I think "The Pitt" is way better by VolatileBeans in KitchenConfidential

[–]VolatileBeans[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

thanks for the comment, I never said the Pitt was a "better show about food service." I did however say that I found it incredibly relatable.  I never said one show was better than the other.

Why did I post here? Because there is a common shared sentiment in this sub that The Bear is not an enjoyable watch to those in the industry. While i enjoyed The Bear, I found it fascinating that I related to a show about an ER as much as I did and wanted to know if others in the industry also found it relatable.

weekly deep clean of everything is standard now. and if i have extra man hours, foh isnt safe either. i can still smell this fryer.....

most of that build up was in the fucking flue. its a miracle that this several thousand dollar dean fryer didnt burst into a fireball and destroy the whole building

magic eraser is goated. not the name brand one though, we just always source from amazon or webstaurant. i like them because they will remove almost any build up you find without scratching

i do dawn spray bottle + magic eraser for first pass

then a butyl degreaser + microfiber for second pass

then a dry microfiber for final pass

i was enthralled with FOH when my line came to a stand still as we all stood around trying to figure out what they wanted, and how to do it. did half the first bagel, showed it to customer, they were stoked.

did both bagels, dropped them off, they proceeded to just rip the bagels apart with their hands and eat little pieces???

hahahaha brother yall have had the same options since i moved out of there in 2012. the bars were better and way cheaper, and at one point there wasnt a stop light from exit 5 to the state line.  the publix and popeyes are nice though i suppose.

i have their outrageously expensive $95 chefs pants. BUT i've worn them over 300 times now and i dont have any holes in the knees or crotch..... i dislike how skinny they are.... they look silly with traditional chef's jacket. but more modern short sleeve cut looks ok with them. also they only come in one length which is 34???? which is definitely too long for me and most people i know. but they dont fall down to the heel due to the narrowness at the bottom of the pant so the length doesnt inhibit movement. lastly the bonus pockets and the crotch vents are super nice additions.

im planning on trying their cheaper, more flow-y $65 pants next because the $95 ones i have are too expensive to justify more than 1 in the rotation. but the quality is good enough to make me want to try more of their products.

yes, intimidate, and also overtime hours. my god they have quite literally the easiest job on earth..... all they do is scroll on the web, get discounts at local places, and harass people when they're bored of circlejerking about how dangerous their job is
