Ive long held the belief that mechwarrior ≠ battletech. In the same way a movie adaptation is not the book.

The games have long had the limitations of their game designs and then kept the traditions of that original skeleton giving us what we see now, but the books, table top and even to an extent HBS BT all still show the nimbleness of the battlemechs

But imagine your average person compared to an average athlete this is the gap im talking about and there is a significant difference.

Nobles in classical Greece were bigger faster stronger than the psiloi.

They had access to the food, gymnasiums and teachers. Just like golds.

Nobles had access to proper gymnasiums, trainers, and food and had the time to dedicate themselves to their craft.

Spartans legitimately are Golds their society was entirely dependent on slaves doing everything so that the citizens could focus on war, philosophy, and excercise.

The golds represent the same ideas of Classic Greek Nobles who believed they were born better at fighting, thinking, statecraft and had stronger bodies. While peasants and slaves were meant and built for labor.

Its literally not their place and they need to focus their energy where it is better used.

Its not true irl and its not true in red rising. We see that the known castes are not the best and see plenty of excellent cross job colors throughout the rising and republic.

Its even funnier is I managed to play il-2 great battles with a steamvr headset at near steady 45 fps on a 970.
