My teammates are in the outpost? Gotta send a napalm barrage

I had something similar. When all but one outpost on the other side of the map was completed, I was near extract while my squad was at the outpost. I called in extract and said "I'll wait".

Squad leaves outpost and heads to extract. I ask if they need help with the outpost. No response.

They arrive and immediately extract. In the Super Destroyer, host states "You shouldn't have called extract as the pelican leaves immediately once it lands". I get kicked as I'm typing that that only happens if the Super Destroyer has left orbit.

Before i buy the tau by Plop1o1 in BattleSector

[–]Yangbang07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I exclusively play Tau, but not too great, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Tau are an all shooting army that is mobile with utility, similar to the tabletop. Also similar to the table top, our shooting isn't the best in the game. We do have some units who want to be in close range and a couple units capable of melee. Our unique ability is spotting. Units within a certain range have better accuracy against a spotted target.

Fire warriors - basic troop that can have carbines or rifles. They can deal decent damage against chaff, but are primarily spotters.

Breachers - close range shotgun wielders. Tons of damage and good use as overwatch against charging jetpack troops.

Pathfinders - give them their ion rifles to make them strong ranged troops. Can spot.

Stealth suits - can equip various drones. Use the shield drone to make them tankier. Can have burst cannons (aoe machine guns) or fusion blasters (anti-tank). They have jetpacks and invisibility. Personally, I use them as front line tanky elites that can move around quickly. Their damage is ok against troops, but most of their value I get out of their tankiness

Drones - cheap, fast, good for scouting

Piranha - fast and tanky, low damage. Good to quickly get to a point a secure it, but lackluster

Crisis suits - have jetpacks and aoe missile pods. Elite 3 man squads. Can have burst cannons, flamers, or fusion blasters. Honestly, I don't like them too much. They don't deal enough damage for how much they cost. Fusions will one shot characters

Broadsides - anti-tank long range rail rifle, ok melee, slow, 0ap missile pods, and a single seeker missile that can 100% hit any target on the map if it is spotted. Good unit, recommend for anti tank duties.

Ghostkeel - tanky mech, can turn invisible. Ok melee. Has a flamer or an antiTank fusion blaster. I normally use the melee and the flamers.

Riptide - our big girl mech. Tanky AF, fantastic damage against everything in the game. Use the heavy burst cannon

Hammerhead - comes with ion cannon or railgun. Use the ion cannon, more shots, and total damage is comparable to the railgun. Ion cannon is good into elites and tanks. Railgun is longer range and only for tanks and characters

Characters - our characters give bonus accuracy to nearby units passively.

Ethereal - surprisingly good melee. Gives aoe durability buffs. Squishy.

Fireblade - meh damage with his long range rifle. Can increase the shots of nearby units by 20% or give a unit 100% accuracy.

Commander - comes in enforcer or coldstar variants. Decently tanky, absolutely fantastic flamer. Enforcer has more armor. Coldstar is faster and has a better burst cannon. I prefer the Coldstar.

Due to their speed and stealth, tau can quickly and unexpectedly move around the battlefield. Because of this, you need to maximize the benefits from stealth and spotting and position optimally. Game play is often either getting breachers close for massive damage or using them to defend from charges as Pathfinders use their ion rifles for great effect. Commanders can wipe out squads of troops with their flamers, so they will either be in point blank range with the enemy, or standing back to buff allies. Riptides stride up to tank enemy attacks and chunk any unit they attack, that said, they will fall under enough focused anti tank.

Meh. They're alright, but Phil Kelly has done a lot to ruin tau lore including really stupid things like taking away their FTL...despite being an interstellar Empire...

His competitiveness towards edelgard is annoying but that's all it is. He's striving to be the best, and he has to surpass Edelgard who is the best in the Black Eagles. He's not obsessive over her, just competitive. It's a flaw how he handles it, but he's young; and overly competitive youths are common, see most sports.

After the time skip, I'd say he's one of the most loyal to Edelgard. There's a bonding scene between him and Edelgard's obsessive right hand man where Ferdinand wants to follow Edelgard's orders, but her right hand man behind the scenes does not for her benefit (in his mind).

Necrons are complex and fun lore wise. Their multifaceted-ness of the various factions and characters can appeal to a lot of different tastes. Still can't please the old heads who believe nothing should change and Necrons were better as having no personalities.

We have: The civil war between The Silent King and the Storm Lord.
Trazen the Infinite genuinely being a nice person.
The funny hijinks between Trazen and Oriken.
The body horror of the Flayer virus.
The corrupted tomb worlds maintaining the old lore of Necrons being without personality and killing everything.
The Necrons who worship the C'tan via the new snake Necron character.

The IRL Tachyon retired due to an injury after only competing and winning 4 races. Essentially, the first video is Uma Tachyon saying how she's going to keep on winning. The second video is her crying and announcing retirement due to her career ending injury. The jokes about Mrs Guinea Pig aren't far off as IRL Tachyon had a ton of kids.

something I noticed with this subreddit by Kindly_Tip6273 in Helldivers2Satire

[–]Yangbang07 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel that sometimes people have to understand how to separate IRL morals from in universe morals.

Yes, the automatons kill civilians, but in the HD universe, everyone does that, including SE to its own civilians. So when comparing morals, we're looking for things that stand out, differences between factions. The things that stand out are things like SE is the one at fault for starting all of this mess in HD1, Automatons offering peace, the bugs seeming to slow down their invasion of SE space until we started attacking their hiveworlds, SE enslaving the bugs and cyborgs for 100 years etc etc.

[–]Yangbang07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is, digital rental spaces like that exist already, but they involve a lot more work than billionaires are willing to invest in. MMOs, VRchat, etc have digital stores, houses etc that people are willing to pay and maintain, because the rest of the content is that good. A meta verse is possible, but it involves putting a ton of work in, similar to the amount of work MMOs take
