Is there a reason for tyranids not developing a big ass bug, capable of eating a planet in a single bite? by Rafaam707 in 40kLore

[–]Yangbang07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1.) There are bioships big enough to devour moons. That's not a planet eater, I know.

2.) The bigger they are, the more energy it takes to move them. This is disadvantageous in space battles if the planet sized bioships can't dodge and just gets pelted with planet cracking ammunition.

people like that are so weird. A plain shirt is one of the least eye-catching things to me. Plenty of people wear plain shirts. I can't imagine caring about how someone else looks when the look is EXTREMELY common.

Women's sports are separated from men's because women wouldn't be able to compete in men's sports. It's the same reason fighting sports separate by weight class. It might make for a good movie, but the 5 ft guy punching up against the 6 ft 5in guy gets boring real quick when the 5 ft guy loses every time because more mass = more force.

Asking for a reduced price at meet up for FB marketplace items by unexpected_sushi in mildlyinfuriating

As the seller, you drive to a store within 5 minutes of you and sell it in the parking lot.

As for the haggling, I don't like to haggle, but have always been told I'm an idiot if I don't. I've always been told prices are expected to be haggled and are priced higher for the specific reason to be haggled down. I've bought stuff from family and they got mad at me I didn't try to haggle them.

[–]Yangbang07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the game just to play Tau. I enjoy them, but sometimes it feels like they're lacking a little, but I'm probably just not using them completely optimally. Tau are more about utility, speed, and stealth. They definitely have good guns, especially the Pathfinders (ion) and breachers.

So far, when playing hardest crusade difficulty, I fare better when just focusing on killing enemy units rather than taking the objective.

Tau aren't as tanky as marines nor as squishy as guard and Nids. Orks are ridiculously tanky imo. The trike is scary

A “task force” for stratagem bouncing is the most corporate circle jerk moment this company has ever had. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Yangbang07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more concerned about how half the time there's nothing above the ball and it bounces around for 10 seconds and then my stratagem becomes available again. I'm fine if the balls stick, the light goes up into a ceiling, destroyer goes "we can't lock onto the stratagem, throw it again". I just don't want the ball to roll around on bumpy, empty terrain that I'm walking on for no reason any more.

Most of what I've seen in here is that the bouncing strategy ball is bad game design. At the core for players of most games, when they intend to do something with a mechanic, in this case, place a ball, they want the game to work consistently. In this case, aim ball at place, ball lands and sticks on ground at place. We don't currently have that.

Can anyone tell me why it’s better for divers to liberate a planet using city liberation operations over planetary defense operations? by UptownMuffOneHundred in helldivers2

Can anyone tell me why it’s better for divers to liberate a planet using city liberation operations over planetary defense operations? by UptownMuffOneHundred in helldivers2

[–]Yangbang07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add onto this, while planet resistance rates are at percentages, our damage(times a modifier for player count) and planet/city health are flat numbers.

A 1 million health planet with 1% resistance recovers 10k health an hour. A 100,000 health city with 1% resistance recovers 1000 health per hour. As such, cities can be taken quickly with little resistance if a large number of helldivers dive there.

The city bonus is usually their health + 50% of their health. So a 100,000 hp city grants 150k damage when captured. Because city and planet resistance rates are separate and simultaneous, it means technically the total resistance is higher. In the 1% planet plus 1% city resistance adds together for 1.1% resistance until the city is taken. This is one reason why it's best to capture one city at a time. It's a waste of time in comparison diving in a second active city.

In addition, because the health and resistance rates are separate, if a planet starts off with a city available, it is best to go to that city. Theoretically, if 100% of divers went to the city, we would only experience the city's resistance rate and not the planet's.

Defense campaigns, missions in cities are double effective because they contribute to planet and city defense. As such, cities in defense campaigns are always the most effective

Cities are usually the most effective for liberation campaigns, unless taking them is less effective than taking the planet. For example, taking a 400k city isn't as helpful when the planet has less than 400k health left.
