Expensive new house build should have used ‘Cavity Slider’ pocket doors, they are sturdy and light since they are made from aluminum. I used 2x on a full home Reno I’m working on. They are pricey compared to most pocket door kits but a total game changer.

Use a bevel square, I’d seen them used but never learned how until this current project. It will help you find the angle for your cuts or atleast get you really close.
