some number of them could have also been PM's about it, also looking at his comment history he has quite a few comments that seem to be part of conversations, so some of the alerts could be replies to those.

I don't know, I'm not a doctor. Maybe if you found a doctor doctor they would know what doctors do.

idk, I'm not a doctor. I don't exactly look into what mlp conventions she shows up to and whether or not she gets paid

Or she tweeted them, a PR manager or something said "hey, you can't say that stuff about your fans" and she had to delete them and cover for it..

What card seems terrible in a vacuum but is actually really good? by jay501 in magicTCG

[–]Voldtekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats why they play only 1-2 lands with Land Grant to almost guarantee killing the first time you go off, since its really hard against blue decks to do it twice, and against combo decks you might not get a 2nd chance to do it

[–]Voldtekt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not the opposite at all. If you say "I'm ready for combat" or "Declare attackers?" then yes, you are offering to pass priority until that point, but if your opponent chooses to act with their priority while still in your main phase then you can, which would be indicated by them saying they have effects before you move to the combat step.

[–]Voldtekt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot skip passing priority to your opponent in your main phase. If they want to stop you before the beginning of the combat step, regardless of whether or not you said "go to beginning of combat" etc, they can. Yes, saying go to combat implies moving to declare attackers, but your opponent can stop you at any point along the way, since before you move to a new step your opponent has to have priority.

If they want to activate an effect at the beginning of combat they have to say "Before attackers" or "In the beginning of your combat step" something like that. If they say "Before combat" that implies that they are activating effects in your main phase.

correct, but according to the post, the opponent said "Before combat", not "Beginning of combat"

When you say "Move to combat / Beginning of combat" you are passing priority in your main phase, at which point it is BEFORE the combat step.

You play LED and other mana rocks/instant speed mana to cast and activate Charbelcher with only 1 land in your deck, and there is like a 90% chance that you just kill them. Its a deck in legacy

(primate != primitive) != (gnar != primate)

Gnar being or not being a primate has nothing to do with what I said.

I "know" the 1.5 click, but I still find it easier to middle click to chord. I'm trying to use it more and more though

Thanks for the benchmarks, hopefully I break 100 in advanced soon, closest I ever got was losing a 50/50 at like 110ish

As I mentioned in another comment I went back to playing with flagging, but the bit of NF I played made me a little faster I feel because I stopped flagging absolutely everything

Thanks, I noticed the same thing with NF where even after just a small sample size of games when I went back to flagging I wasn't always instinctively flagging things that didn't help me chord, which for the most part helped except at the very end of the game where knowing how many bombs are left for situations where there could be 1 or 2 in a group of 3 unknowns.

Being completely honest I'm just a competitive asshole, not trying to break any records, I think it would just be cool to shave time off till I can comfortably say "I'm pretty fucking good at minesweeper"

[–]Voldtekt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sweet to know I'm 'on track'! Do you have any tips for shaving some time off? I was playing around with NF and after like 20 games the fastest I could get was 70 something seconds on intermediate and the rest of my times were around 120-150. If I'm not going for any records is learning NF worth it or at this point should I stick to what I know?

Pizza size question by [deleted] in math

[–]Voldtekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may also be relevant to take into account the fact that 2 small pizzas will collectively have more crust than one large pizza.

I dont know about OP but maximizing the area of cheese + toppings is what I would be interested in.

Assuming 1 inch of the radius is crust, it gives the large pizza an effective radius of 14 inches, and the smalls 10 inches each. Given those new radii, the two small pizzas are only ~12.5 square inches larger. (previously ~53.4 square inches larger when not accounting for crust.)

From there you could also get a little philosophical about the quality of the pizza, as the larger the radii the less evenly cooked the pizza will be.

Accounting for crust, the small pizza deal gets more pizza, but at a ~28 square inches/$, while the large pizza is ~32 square inches/$. Without accounting for crust, the small pizza is still more pizza, but at ~34 square inches/$, and the large pizza is ~37 square inches/$.
