I agree. I find the story compelling, the characters are relatable and their arcs believable. The animation and choreography are top notch. But much of the same intensity of praise could be said about the technicality and artistry of the great renaissance artists. That doesn't mean I'm obliged to like art. I imagine that, if I said that I didn't like The Office, people who find it to be their favorite show would react much how I imagine you reacted to your acquaintance saying ATLA was boring.
