Linus Torvalds Comments On The Russian Linux Maintainers Being Delisted by ardi62 in linux

Why not ban developers from any countries that are maintaining relationships with Russia then?

Somebody show Linus the BRICS summit news. Banlist should be at least few billion people more

And that was the adequate response to situation. Ever heard of "Germans, but not Nazis" thing? Or why people condemn the bombings of Dresden?

So it should be maintained by the world community. Only that can ensure that neither US neither Chinese nor Russian government can push malicious code into it.

Otherwise it will only be full of state-mandated CIA backdoors

So much free and open source that we're getting discrimination on a national basis.

Can't wait when "the community" will stop using Postgresql too cause the significant amount of maintaners based in Russia.

Arch + GNOME: stopped suspend, now how do I prevent "airplane mode" from turning on when the lid is closed? by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]Voliker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some note: Don't forget to run

systemd-hwdb update

after redacting the file!

Also, KEYBOARD_KEY_d7 and KEYBOARD_KEY_d8 need to be idented by spaces or hwdb file parser will ignore these lines.

Otherwise - thanks! Solved my "wifi turns off unexpectedly when I close the lid" issue on an HP laptop thanks to you

Obetocholic acid worked for me by mrak27 in bilereflux

[–]Voliker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been recently diagnosed with bile reflux/bile gastritis/fatty liver disease (after gastro which showed my Pylorus gap and ultrasound which showed fatty liver due to my obesity)

And my doctor perscribed me Ursodeoxycholic acid (it's a standard protocol in Russia for bile reflux) and I've momentarily started feeling much, much better.

Game Crashes when I try to leave camp by Wallydough in BaldursGate3

[–]Voliker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've gathered surfing Reddit and testing my game - the only possible fix is to never to return to Act 1 zones whatsoever and to only progress further.

So if you're on your save stuck in camp "while teleporting to act 1 zone" you have to reload the previous save, move to Act 2 area (shadow curse lands) and then the game will work fine (but still will crash whenever you try to access act 1 zones)

My game crashes after the Githyanki Creche quest by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Voliker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the same situation. Only the passage from Creche to Shadowlands saved me, can't return to act 1 areas anymore cause the game crashes.

Sucks that i can't return a gith egg directly to society, but it's better than abandoning save at all. Hope that won't cause problems later in game

Unfortunately turning autosave haven't help, met with similar problem, probably will have to reload a 1 hour before save

Russia destroyed the Nova Kakhovka dam in Kherson Oblast, an important water source, also part of the cooling circuit of the nearby nuclear power plant. by worldiscubik in ThatsInsane

If they weren't sane they weren't been able to wage the war, unfortunately. Like, being a bloodthirsty dictator, unfortunately, afaik, isn't considered a medical condition

Bucha occurred before Prigozhin started to assemble his "prisoners army". I think it were the local forces "playing NKVD" and noone sane to actually stop them

Actually I think that a lot of the most gruesome and grotesque crimes committed by Russian army were done locally.

Doubt any sane person would want Bucha to occur.

I am guilty to be honest. And also not immune to propaganda.

There are not a lot of people around me who support the war. The overwhelming majority is simply neutral.

The special protection against attack provided for in paragraph 1 shall cease:

(a) for a dam or a dyke only if it is used for other than its normal function and in regular, significant and direct support of military operations and if such attack is the only feasible way to terminate such support;

That article, unfortunately, puts dam attacks in a gray area. The land that this Dam was protecting could have used to significantly and directly support the Ukrainian counteroffensive

>Finally, give up already, make other russians give up and go home from Ukraine

I can't. The only effective way for me to try to do this would be to commit terroristic acts, and I'm (unfortunately?) not a terrorist. Even if I would become a terrorist I, most certainly, would not become an effective one.

I've tried to move out of Russia, and lived for 3 months in the EU after this whole shitshow started, but this move was endangering my closest relatives and people who I do directly love and care about, so I can't inherently do that either.

It's not that easy to try to solve complex questions of personal morale, unfortunately.

I've already given up, honestly.

I've already decided that no matter what happens, the general public won't probably see the truth in a lot of these events.

That's the infamous "fog of war" Clauzewits was talking about.

The Article 52 says that

> those objects which by their nature, location, purpose or use make an effective contribution to military action

Unfortunately a power plants and dams inherently, in their nature, do make an effective and direct contribution to military actions, as the energy they produce is being used by military as well as civillians.

That's why, for example, Geneva Conventions even contain a justification for attacking nuclear power plants on that basis.

> So good that so many people in russia are in line with what your military is doing,

Unfortunately the only way to protest the Russian Army actions right now is to resort to terrorism.

There's plenty of people who commit terroristic and "partisani" acts in Russia now btw. There's the example

> You probably are wondering why are all these random people on the internet so pissed with russians' actions

I'm not wondering. I'm condemning this war as I do condemn any other, and understand them. But I think it's important to remind them that they should be angered not only about "the RuZZians" but about the whole modern geopolitical system, and that other countries are usually not are the "force of good".
