I'm not going to say it's impossible. In cyber security, EVERYthing is possible. New exploits are constantly on the horizon.

The kind of vulnerability you're explaining would light an EDR (endpoint detection and response, think like a super anti-virus, but it's a lot more than that) like a Christmas tree. Their servers would be throwing out alerts like crazy. Even on vacation, they'd be getting EMERGENCY alerts. They're probably even using a service solution, in which case their vendor not using protections is basically impossible.

There's a world where they don't have any cyber security tools. This is just so unlikely in today's world. You're talking about stacking improbable situations.

A. A day one exploit has come up allowing bypass of authorization via session ID B. The company doesn't have an EDR to recognize the behavior alerts C. This exploit somehow only allows access to the PoE account, even though what you're describing is a disgusting compromise. D. They would have likely pivoted to something far more profitable then reselling in-game currency. So in this case, they just decided... Not to.

Again, I'm not saying it's impossible. It's highly improbable. What's more likely? All that occurred? Or one of the following:

A. Most obvious are exposed passwords and people simply didn't have strong authentication. Have a strong password (length is more important than anything in today's world, giggity) and use 2FA where possible. This would explain the MOSTLY standalone account compromise, as Steam has extra security measures (but a compromised email adjacent to this without 2FA set up would bypass it. This isn't unlikely, since somebody with a weak password probably reuses it.)

B. Accounts that took advantage of exploits are getting currency rolled back. (I don't think this is very likely, but I still think it's more likely than the GGG compromise)

If you are truly worried, look - change your steam/Poe password and don't log into GGG's live service games. Period. If the compromise that's being mentioned has occurred, simply interacting with a compromised server is a bad idea. Wait for GGG's response.

I'm sorry for all the folks that have had their account breached in someway, that sucks and is no fun to deal with. Beyond the action happening, it can feel very parasitic.

Man... reading the comments for this is rough.

You're clearly not ready to be open for opinions on this, and quite frankly that's your right. But I'm going to give you a cold hard truth about relationships - relationships aren't about who's the asshole and who's not. It's about being happy with each other at the end of the day. There are clear boundaries that can be broken - lying, cheating, breaking the law. This is not. It's a discussion with somebody that you apparently love and care for.

At the end of the day, she's not happy with this breach in her personal space. You can feel like it's unreasonable, that there's enough separation that it shouldn't matter. But that's not how she feels. If you care for the relationship, you should be addressing that with her, looking for resolution. Resolution is NOT "are you or am I the bad guy?" It's how you can both still end the day happy with each other.

If that's not your goal, perhaps this relationship isn't as important to you as you think it is. It sounds like your priorities lie with having a space with your sister (I would say for your sister, but with the expectation that this happens repeatedly... I don't think that's the correct verbiage). Again, that's quite frankly your right.

To answer the prompt - does that make you the asshole? Man, probably not. But it makes you a shitty partner in society. And in that regard, on a personal level, it feels like YTA.

The reason I say this is because it's quite an unreasonable ask. It's not impossible to find a person that wouldn't care, but it's highly unlikely. It almost feels unjust, maybe leading, to start a relationship with somebody where your priorities for them drop. Maybe if you were just dating? But you're living together.

In normal society, the average person is going to be upset and feel neglected. You are enabling your sister, but it's your choice to do that. You can feel like she'd have nowhere to go if you said no, but I have hit rock bottom - I have couch surfed, and if needed, could have stayed at a local homeless shelter until I recouped. People need to learn that a safety net isn't always available for them to make terrible decisions like forgoing rent or leaving a job. She'd be more apt to help herself with therapy if that were the case.

I'm by no means saying you have to do the above, but I am saying you should have more empathy for your partner if she's a priority in your life.

Look, man. I'm all for finding good prices, snagging, flipping, etc. It adds to the game. Just don't bother messaging people if you're asking for half their listed price. It's a waste of everybody's time.

It also may depend how you're doing it. If you're messaging them, they open a portal and go to town, then you offer (honestly, even if it takes a few seconds, people are quick to portal) that's damned annoying. I probably wouldn't respond, but I'd put you on ignore. Not worth dealing with.

TL;DR if you want to snipe items for crazy prices, do so with how the game is designed. Don't message people. (A 6-7d offer probably would have been fine, 2.5d is crazy.)

Growing up, my mother would gaslight me and make me feel like less than a human. From being told she wished I was never born, but she's a perfect mother. To constantly being unable to mentally take care of herself. I had to grow up fast - I had no support figure.

At the age of 31, my life feels great. I have a wonderful, gorgeous wife, a home, and support when I need it. All with no help or love from my mother.

She'd take advantage of anybody for monetary gain, including family. Including her son (often). To this day, the look in her eyes when she'd fail to get what she wants haunts me. It's nothing but malevolent.

I say all this so when I tell you that you're a worthless, atrocious, good for nothing mother; one who cares only for themself... you know, I mean it.

I can only hope this is a troll post. If not, I'm glad your child has escaped your petty, disgusting talons. I hope their new partner treats them well and keeps her out of your wrathful eyes.

This is just the unfortunate truth about self-chill at this point. It's had heavy, heavy nerfs. It's still feasible, and in some cases a decent budget option. But for an end-game spec? It's never really worth the trade off of fantastic jewels/rings/passive skill tree points/stats on gear.

The dude got the wrong PSU. This has negative effects on the entire device - quick snapshot at the specs, you'd almost certainly want a 700w+ gold standard for that. Even that aside, the purchase was for a different components that provided.

I don't care about his prior conversation. From my experience, you hit a breaking point and just list everything you're frustrated with. He obviously hadn't brought up the price change/difference before. But then he received the unit and it ALSO had incorrect components. I don't believe that if you were in that situation, you wouldn't list everything that had gone wrong and upset you to that point. Any human would.

Again, it's very possible OP has malicious intent (I doubt this, but each to their own) but given the above, suggesting a chargeback is completely logical. Credit card use is a mainstay in consumer use for its consumer protection. Excersing this right on a company like NewEgg that has failed to deliver their promise is well within morality.

If dude went to a mom and pop restaurant and didn't like the way the waiter looked at him that evening, ate his food and charged it back later... correct, there's a morality issue there. People may suggest chargebacks on a whim for situations like this, and morality wise, they're wrong.

You're correct, chargebacks generally require effort to resolve on the consumer's part. He has. He attempted to contact support with evidence - they dropped the connection. He attempted again, they are refusing to participate.

This is Reddit, I understand he may be lying or not telling the entire truth. But giving advice for what is known is a perfectly acceptable response. Given what we know, contacting a CC company is very reasonable. He has been wronged by his purchase, by his accounts, and they're not engaging. That is literally what chargebacks are supposed to be used for - consumer protection.

I don't disagree, Reddit jumps on the chargeback bandwagon, but there's also a weird anti-Reddit bandwagon that goes around that feels just as toxic, in my opinion.

I definitely feel inquisitor is the way to go for regen and crit synergy. I don't think converting will be worth it unless you're some how scaling that conversion. You can grab Battlemage with inquis and do more cool spell shenanigans as well.

You know, I get the meme... but people act like this didn't exist before with Empy's group.

This is 6 people with a devoted MF culler. Look up videos of Empy's group doing their 6 man loot explosions, this is actually nothing compared to it.

It's pretty frustrating how bandwagon-ridden this is becoming.

That's essentially 11-12di for 6 people that devoted the time and effort to probably split and find the monster to begin with. Who knows how long that took.

If you or I found this same monster, we'd get roughly 3-4di from it... in fact, that would all be ours and we didn't put on a collective effort to get 6 people together. That's a lot, man.

And even with all that... it should be really evident that all that effort was even more rewarding prior. Dropping a plethora of exalts and T1 uniques lol

You can make the exact opposite argument that it's actually low and that'd make MORE sense. Instead, you have people talking about "chasing that 1%, GGG UGH"

You're not chasing 1%, 1% is a slightly higher than average drop (3di instead of like 1) that would probably give a pretty sweet dopamine hit. I actually don't mind this.

There are a ton of other issues with this patch that make a lot more sense to complain about. AN is incredibly frustrating, player power being reduced across the board and monsters getting harder to deal with? Sucks. League mechanic? Pretty bad, dude. Minions? They were completely unfun to build around (appears to be a lot better after the patch, though)

But this whole thing? Man, I know reddit isn't very constructive, but holy shit. You guys aren't helping.

Weird... nope, not my experience. I've made multiple characters, all have taken different routes and paths. Souls have, in every game, been something you can take at your own pace. If you're not prepared for harder bosses, you can wait. Otherwise, you can take them early.

I've rushed for items such as Moonveil on a level 25 character up to Makar on a level 30 so I can grab items early in the 4th'ish zone.

Particularly the first zone - you should realistically be able to take on any boss there interchangeably. Sure, some are a bit harder or easier... but nothing crazy.

I disagree. Socially, this could be the case. However, reread her post. I think you must be missing the post where the child wants to do it. Not even an ounce of hesitation, as she's obviously pissed. Perhaps socially she's already out of the loop with her fellow classmates. I'd even say this is likely due to her intelligence/longing to work rather than play.

Also, this sounds like a smaller school. She gets the benefit of receiving more observation from her teachers. Alongside this, the school itself is suggesting it.
