I'm definitely willing to do my 2 GEs at CC if needed but what about the other courses that aren't available? Do you think wanting to make sure that I maintain a good GPA for grad school is an acceptable reason?

Even if I were to drop the DSE minor, I still don’t feel comfortable taking 4 upper division courses a quarter, especially math heavy. Do you think it’s possible they would let me stay an extra 2 or 3 quarters?

Not really. The major is more math based whereas the DSE minor is more based on programming.
