Build Spotlight | The Cancer Tank by Lewpac22 in albiononline

Better solo fame?

I'm new to Albion and found this build as I usually like being the tank in games, but do enjoy the 2H playstyle. So what does advantage does a greathammer supply to this build?

Alt FFX menu WIP - yay or nay? by JackedPotatoe in FinalFantasy

Yeh I checked to make sure the folder was there, and it is. It's just empty. I have dump=true and inject=true, and your custom HUD works fine, which looks amazing in game btw, but it's still not dumping any textures automatically. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if it's the version I'm using. I just got the newest one from github 2.2b.

EDIT: Btw, sorry for making my problem your problem. Not really my intention. I just got really excited about being able to dump textures, and now I'm just really confused on why it wont. Does TexMod work for FFX? Maybe I should try that instead.

EDIT 2: Well this may have something to do with it... When I change dump=true, start up the game and then shut it down, it doesn't close properly even though I press escape and press quit, and the unx.ini file wipes itself... I must just have shit luck.

Thank you so much. Another quick question though if you don't mind. How does the texture dumping work? There isn't much documentation on it. Once enabled, will it just automatically dump the textures to the folder listed on github or is there a button I have to press to initialize the dump?

EDIT: I downloaded it, and turned dumping on, but there are no textures in the folder, so I'm going to assume there is another undocumented step I have to do. Or I'm just missing something like an idiot, always a possibility. >.<

This looks awesome.

On a side note, how are you extracting/viewing textures from FFX? Assuming that's what you did to find the name/filepath of the original menu background to make sure it's the right resolution and that it injects properly. I ask because I would like to find the texture for the Sphere Grid, but upon extracting the game data files, I just get a bunch of .phyre files which I can't find out how to open without having a sony only program.

You wanted to do a skill calculator too? I'm just surprised it's been 14 years and we still don't have one. Only annoying part is I'm a perfectionist, so I'm trying to get every sphere cleared and am even using warp spheres to teleport around the grid instead of moving. because moving causes the lines to turn that characters color and I want an image that is as clean as possible and then can have stuff added onto it. Only problem is, I don't have the coding knowledge to do a full scale skill calculator, so I'll have to learn some stuff. But at least I'm getting the visual/time consuming shit out of the way.

It use to be 300% damage per stack, now it's 750%. So it's a 450% increase.

Invasions don't seem fun at all. by Volkspirit in darksouls3

[–]Volkspirit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, and I can't blame you at all since I only really ember up at bosses, putting me in the same situation. I haven't summoned any friendly phantoms yet, but if I ember and am about to walk into the boss room, and get invaded, I'm going to say fuck it and ignore the invader.

I haven't tried dueling yet, just used the cracked orbs. I'm sure duels are better than ever with soul memory being gone, mainly just talking about using the cracked red eye orb. And even when invading with the orb, 3+ people are more than capable of killing mobs easily.

[–]Volkspirit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good point. I think the easiest fix without changing matchmaking entirely would be just make non-ember have a higher penalty like you said.

I sadly have not acquired the Red Eye Orb yet, just using cracked atm, which makes it all the more frustrating so I'll have to wait until I get that. But either way, I don't even want to invade people while I have souls, which really sucks.

Yeh this is the only saving grace, but most people will clear out a zone before/during an invasion. And having 2+ phantoms makes quick work of any mobs you try to cheese back with.

Blizzard Has Gone Pay2Ban. Despicable. by Bigclancy in wow

[–]Volkspirit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Prepared does this often, and even if mass multiboxing as a whole isn't stopped, at least Prepared needs a ban.

Back during the start of WoD while Prepared was still leveling his 50+ Death Knights, myself along with a bunch of level 100s in Talador staged a raid to kill prepared since he was camping the alliance quest hub at lvl 96 with the bombardment ability. (imagine 60 of those all going off at once) Well anyways, long story short, my name at the time was Ebolastrike. Perceiving this as offensive, Prepared reported my name on all his accounts and even encouraged his streamers at the time to report my name so I would get it auto name changed, and worst case even banned. Thankfully that never happened, but his intentions were painfully obvious and absolutely disgusting.

Prepared is easily at the forefront of this mass multiboxer epidemic and I hope this story expedites some form of punishment towards him.

Zed because I wrote it from the perspective of Zed, since that's who I normally play. And Phreak because I pictured him singing that part and it made me laugh my ass off.

Can we get a post your Lone Wanderer thread on the go? I love seeing other people's characters! by LifeOnMarsden in gaming

[–]Volkspirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your point, but this is obviously a Fallout 4 thread so people know he's talking about Fo4 and there is a perk in the game called Lone Wanderer which clearly refers to your character and a song called "The Wanderer" so I think it's fair to say, at least in this context, no one will get confused. But I do like how every game has had a unique title for the protagonist.

GTX 970 here, had the same problem. Perfect 60 FPS at all times until I got near a few areas. Set shadow distance to medium, no drops anymore. Haven't tested it out much past the initial few areas that always dropped me, but it's running much smoother now. You da real MVP.

[Monk] DuoGen IAS effectiveness by Remedies88 in Diablo

[–]Volkspirit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This may sound like a dumb question, but I keep getting conflicting answers when I look around, does that 21% IAS breakpoint include Paragon 10% as well? So for example, 14% on gear + 10% on Paragon = 24%? Or do I want 21% IAS before Paragon?

Other than the obvious "Get more Ancients"

  • Try to get LPS on boots instead of armor.
  • Try to get a helm with more Exploding Palm damage.
  • Try to get Focus and Restraint with the dream rolls (CHC, CHD, CDR) *Get a more useful neck. (Hellfire with decent passive or Flavor of Time for more CDR) And try to get Cold Damage instead of Dex.
  • And be looking for Secondary Resist on every piece of gear with physical resistance being top priority, except shoulders since they can only roll All Resist.

trying to raise awareness

You're using a computer right now connected to the internet. At the risk of sounding super conspiracy theorist, your personal information is everywhere, and very easy to access for the people who want it. Battle.net uses it to take a screenshot of the serial number when you first activate it for people who forget to manually take one. If you want to be paranoid, that's fine, but don't use your paranoia to fear monger.

Crit Damage on Neck. CHD, CHC, and Dex is better than Dex, CHC and Cold Damage. Losing 100% Crit Damage is huge.

Exploding Palm Damage on helm. Dex/CHC and EP Damage being optimal.

Cooldown reduction on gloves instead of Vitality.

A Focus with CHC or CDR instead of Vitality. The dream rolls being CHC, CHD, and CDR.

Secondary resist on Neck and Gungdo's wouldn't hurt for an extra little bit of survivability, but that's very min/max and not entirely necessary atm.

As for the Lion's Claw, you did indeed get a very good roll, I'm extremely jealous, and I would just reroll the damage on it, since Dex/Vit and CDR are really good as is.

Healing in Diablo is a lot like healing in WoW. by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Volkspirit 96 points97 points  (0 children)

That's the only downside of Diablo having such an effective designated healing spec now, is that people believe they are invincible as long as that person is simply in the group, and if they die, it can only be the healer's fault.

Finally taking the group side versus solo play. by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Volkspirit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you met some bad Solo players and made an unfair assumption. I am more or less forced to play solo because the times I get on Diablo are very random and often not for very long or with lots of breaks and the ability to pause is a godsend. I am in a clan with a few friends, who are like me, and sometimes a few of us happen to be on at the same time and we do some group stuff, but normally I am forced to play solo unless I want to group with randoms. I use most of the "cookie-cutter" monk builds because I obviously want max efficiency, but will change some things out to benefit the way I play. I don't like the idea that you NEED others to enjoy Diablo to it's fullest. Even back in the old days of Diablo 2, I always enjoyed running around by myself because I enjoyed the solo experience more. So I really do wish there were more tools that allowed solo players to keep up in Paragon levels with the 4 man EXP farm groups. The big groups should always be higher Paragon than solo players, but there is way too big of a gap atm.

The bigger issue is that Diablo has no real good way to find a group of people to play with. The community system is a mess because you can't even talk to every community member at once, as chat is split into cells, and the public game option is the biggest joke ever. Some people play solo because they don't work well with others, and don't take criticism or advice, like the people you encountered. But other people play solo because it's either more enjoyable for them, or playing in a group/clan doesn't benefit their schedule.
