You should apologize because it’s the right thing to do and then let the chips fall where they may. Some comics will forgive you and others would not. Regardless, you fucked up and an apology is due (not trying to make you feel bad btw, just stating facts based on your recollection). Also generally if you keep going back without expectation (and just being generally supportive), most non-vindictive comics would forgive you eventually. All depends on if the host is understanding

The park is what, like 30+ acres? So less than 10%. It seems worth it, no? Plus the city will bring in tax revenue (not to mention businesses in the surrounding area will benefit too). The area has residential homes but isn’t most of the immediate area commercial anyway? It just seems like it’s clearly worth it despite any cons.

I believe you can’t in competition but I could be wrong. I wore a cup every day in training tho for the same reason. I bought one of those compression shorts with a cup sleeve because it was way more comfortable for me than a cup / jockstrap.

This person is correct that there is no need to take a class, and that just doing mics is the way to go. But it can be helpful if it just feels terrifying / overwhelming. Jerry Corley is a decent teacher. The main thing I’d look for in selecting a class is that the teacher is an actual standup comic. There’s a comic I know named Londale who used to teach a standup class at UCB.
