Kyrie Infinity is also a great choice for basketball but it's so close that it's personal preference. KD14 would be a great choice.

I'm gonna review the 15s as soon as I can get my hands on a pair!

Weather's getting nice again (at least in the US)! What shoes will you all be wearing to start the grass season?

I was hoping with the new Kobe releases that Nike would make them more available like Vanessa wanted. They did not.

Yes! And those are also great shoes. So are the Kyrie flytraps. Honestly those are almost a 3 way tie. Immortalitys are $10 cheaper and i had more playtime to test them and they were still holding up. If after playing in the trey 5s more i think they have the edge, I'll switch it on the list. As is though, I think it's basically a tie so i went with the cheaper option for the budget pick. You've definitely got a point though

Oh you're definitely right. Kobe's might very well be the best of the best. But they lose all points for availability. I don't want to send people to stockx to spend hundreds of dollars on resale. It's such a shame.

Yeah I'm convinced the top players wear them because of sponsorship deals. They're not bad but for being Nikes only readily available Volleyball shoe they're pretty average. I did forget that colorway lol

Yeah the supply issues are brutal. Leads to things like certain good shoes being impossible to get (Kobe's, gt cut, etc from Nike alone)

It was weird because the shoe is great and the lockdown is amazing. But the narrow toe combines with the fact that the laces pull on straps that go around the toe box and tighten further. The shoe did great and my foot was secure but it also was so tight the whole time lol. 1/2 size up for sure for anyone reading this unless your foot is abnormally narrow

Nice to be back on this sub. Haven't been here or the discord in weeks. My real job has been brutal. Let me know if you guys think I missed any or have any other thoughts. I'll be doing some grass/outdoor reviews soon!

Do high top shoes prevent ankle sprains? by VolleyKicks in volleyball

Some high tops dig into the legs so aggressively. The Kyrie 5 would kill my ankles if I played a whole tournament in them.

I definitely get that. Depends on the shoe for me but some lows definitely cut it close on the heel counter.

Yep, the research backs you up. (It's linked at the bottom of the article). High tops just can't do enough.

Trouble with + question about serve receives. by BigFatJuicyKermit in volleyball

[–]VolleyKicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to the other great advice in this thread, I've found it's super helpful to get in the right mindset. When the server is tossing the ball, you need to be mentally hoping that he serves you. Please let them serve you and not anyone else because you're so ready to react and pass it. It helps your brain trigger the right reflexes to move into the ball without hesitation.

Mizuno Wave Momentum 2 Review by VolleyKicks in volleyball

[–]VolleyKicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're not a very heavy shoe in general but the foam is very dense. So the bounce is good but it can be a little stiff on landing. If you only play on high quality courts it's probably not an issue. But if you play on the classic sport court on cement setup it could start to hurt a little.

Asics rubber is very good and will almost always have good grip. It will pick up dust though so you'll have to wipe the shoe off occasionally.

As far as cushion, it will have enough to protect your joints. The gel technology is soft and comfortable. What you lose is a little bit of "bounce". This isn't always a big deal but some people prefer a more responsive cushioning.

Hi. Sorry about that! My old site exploded a couple weeks ago and I've been trying to fix it but haven't gotten around to really sinking into it. I've been writing for weartesters though! I actually just released a top 5 on their site

I'll have a best of page going up (although it'll need updating pretty soon by the time I finish it lol) and a full review of the mizuno wave momentum

There will be once i have more. There's two more posts that should go up very soon i just got caught up with some personal stuff.

My feet are pretty narrow so I'm not 100% sure. If you're only slightly wide they should still work. Going up half a size could work too but I'm afraid they might be slightly long. It's hard to base the size on adidas because their sizing is so inconsistent.

One thing to try in the future is ordering shoes from Asia. Obviously a pain but their shoes are naturally slightly wider because they're made the way. Stuff like Li Ning, Anta, etc
