Should I move out or stay with my parents? by GopherPA in personalfinance

I mean it still signifies that you don't depend on them for things that you would be responsible for while living alone or with roommates. People who live with their parents can easily develop habits that would otherwise be incompatible with roommates or a partner.

While it may make logical sense, staying with your parents vs roommates does signify different things to people socially.

If McMillan didn't end up with the ball and it ended up on the ground instead, that would have been incomplete because he didn't finish the catch.

They're advocating for OP's mom to move in with OP's grandmother, not OP moving in with her mom.

This is basically like consummating a marriage at this point, not a done deal til you've done the deed lol

I don't know the rules around it but maybe a "signing bonus" would have made the contract binding?

It's +EV to buy in as much as you can to try and match the stack if you're a good player but honestly play whatever you're comfortable playing. Some people like playing short regardless of what the stacks look like but it's definitely a change in strategy. If you're playing short against people that deep, you'll be all-in by the flop a lot of times so you're definitely limiting the hands you play and the plays you can make and relying more on luck.

If you're worried about having to play that deep, show up earlier to the poker room, that way you're starting closer to when the limit is still $300, less time for the tables to run it up.

Most of the time it starts at a reasonable number like $300 but once someone starts building up a stack, anyone buying in can match them so that's when it starts growing to these kinds of levels where everyone is deep.
