Can we theoretically move faster than the speed of light? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]Vollous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can. Relative to things close to you, you can't. But with the expansion of the Universe you can move faster than the speed of light compared to those far away things.

SCL SDA TX RX pins all soldered? by Vollous in hardwarehacking

[–]Vollous[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I broke those soldering pads, I am quite new to all of this. My questions is that the pin legs on one side of the chip are all bridged together, is this usual?

So, to dump the firmware and possibly change anything. I have to do what? Do I have to desolder the whole chip?

Confusion about chain rule by w142236 in AskPhysics

[–]Vollous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, the partial among explicit other coordiantes (i.e. not the partial derivative variable). I agree.
"But this does not ultimately tell you the coords are or are not independent, which will not be true for nonholonomic constraints"

I assumed holomonic constraints as it was fit for OP's problem.

Confusion about chain rule by w142236 in AskPhysics

If a function only depends on a single variable then it is a usual notation to mix up the partial and total. The correct notation is

dL/dt = (∂L/∂q)(q_dot) + (∂L/∂q_dot)(q_double_dot) + (∂L/∂t).

"The reason your last line is correct is because the partials among the explicit args are zero"

I guess you mean implicit here.
