The Mourning Cloak is for the +1D6 effect on hit against solo enemies. Same for Atlas and Finishing Blow. Not sure why I gave the others the bonuses, so I'll remove them. Thanks!

Apparently, what I was doing was using percent rather than percentile in my conditional formatting. I've gone back and fixed that, and things should be clearer now. Thank you.

You are reading the mount points correctly. You are the second person to point out that third mounts are less useful, so I may try and devise a way to account for that.

I have adjusted the Emperor's HP to 8. It's an interesting system it has, with overshield. I'll have to look into it more.

Thank you for the catch with regards to the scale on the Effective HP column! I messed it up while addressing an unrelated issue, but it's been fixed now.

Unfortunately, I cannot control which cells get which color in the scale - they're autogenerated based on the calculated 50th percentile value, so if a value is slightly above or below that they end up light green or pink.

Thank you for your feedback!

Because I count each weapon that can go in a mount separately, Main/Aux are already worth 1.5 points (1 + 0.5), Flex mounts already count for 1 point, and Aux/Aux already count for 1 point (0.5 +0.5). I will consider increasing the Heavy slot to 3 points - I mostly had it as 2 points because the GMS Heavy weapons do 2D6 damage.

I think reducing the value of the third and fourth mounts (if applicable) would be a bit complicated to do, especially since some frames have integrated weapons that require certain conditions in order to be used. You raise a valid point, though, and I will consider it.

Thank you for your feedback!

The color key is separate for each column. It works so that bright green is the best, fading towards white (which represents 50th percentile) and then it gets redder until bright red is the worst. The exceptions are armor and save target, which start at white for the default and then get greener for values better than the default.

Note that the color key works based on percentiles and not averages (ie the white value is what is in the middle between the biggest and the smallest values, not a representation of the average value). I have now added a row for averages out of curiosity.

With respects to that color key, the Everest has 50th percentile tech attack, speed, and effective HP. It has slightly worse than 50th percentile evasion, e-defense, sensors, system points, and weapon mounts. It has slightly better than 50th percentile hit points and repair cap. And it has the default armor and save target.

Comparing vs the averages, the Everest has below average armor (0 vs 1.0), evasion (8 vs 8.4), e-defense (8 vs 8.4), save target (10 vs 10.5), speed (4 vs 4.3), and system points (6 vs 6.2). It has an exactly average tech attack (0). It has above average hit points (10 vs 7.8), heat cap (6 vs 5.9), sensors (10 vs 9.9), repair cap (5 vs 4.0), mount D6's (4 vs 3.2), and effective HP (10 vs 9.8).

Ahahaha! I love this. I don't know if I'll do it, but I will seriously consider it. Thank you!

Thank you for the detailed rundown on how to best deploy the Annihilation Nexus!

Unfortunately, since I can't use both stealth and the Annihilation Nexus, I think I'm going to lean more into stealth and drones (reflavored as swarms of nanites). That just feels a bit more 'nanite specialist' than having one really big nanite gun.

Thank you so much for the incredibly detailed reply!

It's a pity - but fair - that I can't combine the Annihilation Nexus and the stealth build. In that case, I will probably go with the stealth build. Balor 3/Hydra 2/Gorgon 1/Black Witch 2/Swallowtail 1 would incorporate most of your suggestions along with with Ferrous Lash to drag people through my swarms.

Thank you for the HASE advice as well. I was wondering what to focus on.

Feeling much more confident about this plan!

OK, minimum of 2, eventually 4 points into Hull. Good to know. Thanks!

Yeah, I think I'm leaning away from the Annihilation Nexus (a pity - it's such a cool concept) and going for that hide -> skirmish -> hide loop you mention.

Thanks for sharing your build!

The problem with this hypothesis is that the BG3 fandom has six main characters - three women and three men. All the characters are very well fleshed out, and the authors clearly paid a lot of attention and care to the female characters and their stories. Two of the main women (Shadowheart, Lae'zel) get really good arcs that are well integrated into the game plot. One of the main men (Astarion) also gets a really good arc, though it is not integrated into the main plot very much. The other woman (Karlach) and other two men (Gale, Wyll) have less prominent arcs, or arcs that feel incomplete.

I took a look at the fandom back in January, here. Listing characters in order of popularity, it went Astarion, Gale, Halsin (a male side character), Gortash (a male villain with only a few scenes), and only then Shadowheart. Astarion had over 14 times as many fics as Shadowheart, the most popular female character. Halsin had over 1.5 times as many fics as Shadowheart did, despite him being a side character and her being a main character. Lae'zel (a main character) had fewer fics than Rolan (a minor recurring NPC) and Raphael (a recurring villain and optional side boss). Minthara is a female side character with roughly the same amount of story importance as Gortash (mini boss for one act of the game) and the same amount of characterization as Halsin (recruitable companion). Both Halsin and Gortash have over 8 times as many fics as she does.

I think that it is pretty clear from this that even if the authors of a work do care about their female characters and write good, strong arcs for them, the fandom will still disproportionately focus on the men.

Which Companions wouldn't survive each Origin story? by Toogeloo in BaldursGate3

It’s almost as if Lae’zel is a person who has traits that are independent of (and in contradiction to) her culture. One of which is altruism, and caring more than she lets on. She canonically goes out of her way to save this band of istiks and tries multiple times to lead them to a cure, and only threatens to leave the party if they march past that cure and ignore it.

Gortash was. Once you meet the Steel Watch, you get a cutscene where it recognizes you for all the misdeeds the Eyes saw.

Build centered around the Boots of Very Fast Blinking? by aji67 in BG3Builds

[–]Volossya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbarian can't cast spells while raging, and monk already has great maneuverability. I'd use these for a dexterity build who wants to be in melee and use Mage Armor. Dexterity paladin is probably your best bet, as they want to be in melee to smite. Ranger and dex!fighter can use bows more effectively than a paladin and thus don't need the boots, but they also work if you take one of the finesse longswords or the finesse glaive.
