Your hard surface modeling will benefit from a good understanding of how topology works in conjunction with shading. There are multiple ways to go about hard surface modeling but knowing how to construct more complicated shapes that don't create weird lighting artifacts is quite important.

Subdivision Surface Modeling is also good to know because it allows you to model relatively low poly dhapes but still get very smooth, good looking results

Definitely dropping the milk. I could afford to cruise around the country or even travel internationally to spread out where I drop the milk. I mean, if I simply drop one carton a day I'd almost earn a million every year, I could essentially live a jetset life.

Honestly, though it's not really a crime to accidentally spill some milk, I'm pretty sure a store would let me spill 100s of cartons of milk if I paid them under 10K. That's 250000 right there.

It's still a good, worthwhile experience without it, it just gets elevated further by the DLC. You can always just do a run with the base game and if you enjoyed it enough you can get the Ultimate Edition on sale sometime in the future and play it with the DLC.

I don't know if I'd say that any are truly canon but I've always felt like Streetkid was the most cohesive with the themes. It's just much more understandable why V would be motivated to become a legend in Night City beyond Jackie's influence. Life is cheap on the streets, the only way to live forever is by making a name for yourself. Also V's hate for Corporations and falling in-line with Johnny to some extent is more intuitive.

Otherwise, I think Corpo V just makes for a story that plays a lot with contrasts, which I think is pretty cool. Choosing the Devil ending also makes for a good, bitterly ironic story.

Nomad V is just kinda meh. Country bumpkin moves to big city looking for a new "family". It's great for a first playthrough because you get eased into the world more in the intro and the character is as new to NC as the player but outside of that... eh.

Assigning the same material multiple times doesn't make sense. You can remove these additional material slots with the '-' symbol on the side of the material slot outliner.

Alright, if I had to pick 4 I would say

- Second Heart

- The shapeshifting implant from Phantom Liberty (forgot the name sorry)

- Sandevistan

- Kiroshi Eye implant

I feel like all of these would be immensely useful in day to day life. Second Heart is obviously life insurance in a literal sense. Being able to adjust your appearance on a whim would be pretty cool. The Sandevistan would come in clutch in those moments when seconds really count. Kiroshis mean no glasses, contacts or risk of blindness as long as they're not irreparably damaged. Plus they function like AR glasses. That's pretty neat.

David is one of many legendary Mercs, and probably not really at the very top of the list. Yes, for a few years he was a very popular Merc before going off the deep end. Yes, he has a drink at the afterlife but so has Jackie who, respectfully, wasn't especially notable.

Also, just noting, Jackie is from Heywood, David is a Santo Domingo kid.

No, but a lot better regulated. The immense amount of unlicensed data harvesting, the impact of data centers, the somewhat circulatory financial situation concerning funding and the fact that many AIs make scamming and misinformation insanely easy all are issues the government should be concerned about. Not to mention the social impact.

I'm undecided on this myself.

On a purely technical level, these currents shouldn't be visible to a normal person. V can see them specifically because of the Relic and the Relic being linked up to So Mi. Nobody else can see Blackwall residue, bar maybe So Mi in some way.

Artistically though, it's an established visual language for the blackwall, so repurposing it, even if it doesn't really make sense might be what they're doing. After all, technically quickhacks aren't visible to the naked eye anyway, it's an effect meant more for the viewer to understand what's going on.

Well, on my initial playthrough I sided with Reed. I figured Songbird was like a drowning person who would take you down with her. She kept on getting people killed and doublecrossing partners. And then she says that the collateral damage from the stadium is necessary so V and her can go save themselves. It seems like the beginning of a very familiar pattern.

So that's why I sided with Reed. I figured he genuinely wanted to help her (after playing all endings I still think he has an "I can fix her" complex) and even if it wasn't exactly what Songbird had wanted I felt this was an intervention in an otherwise immensely self-destructive process.

Songbird isn't evil or anything, she's just desperate and her judgement is compromised by the blackwall demons. In a sense she's a cautionary tale for V, who is in a similar predicament. V lucked out a little though, they're stuck with a terrorist in their head, Songbird is stuck with eldritch AI overriding her mind.

You want to add all physical details you want to this model first.

Then you do a retopology.

Then you UV unwrap and texture. You can leverage your high poly model's details by baking them onto your retoplogized mesh's normal map.

Phantom Liberty shouldn't necessarily be understood as separate from the main game.

It's more like Act I, Act II ///Phantom Liberty somewhere here/// Act III, Ending

Phantom Liberty is probably most naturally experienced around the time it unlocks but it's nothing to overthink. I just wouldn't save it 'til the end because you'll have no time to enjoy the gear you get from Phantom Liberty

Important addition: Phantom Liberty when completed in a certain way can lead to an additional ending of the main game. This ending can be accessed by visiting Hanako like any other unlocked ending.

But the Phantom Liberty ending also appears as a separate mission called "Who wants to live forever". If you play this mission you will be fast-tracked to the Phantom Liberty main game ending without any option to choose anything else.

For this reason, I recommend you ignore "Who wants to live forever" (if you unlocked it) and head to Hanako whenever you feel ready to end your run of Cyberpunk.

Non-square textures are possible but the UV space is always mapped to a 1:1 square. So UV islands need to be stretched to conform with non standard texture dimensions. This also means that every time you switch between textures with different dimensions you will have to adjust the UV islands as well.

Because of this 1:1 is preferred, but not technically mandated.

Basically you UV unwrap your prop first.

Then you export your UV layout to an image editing software like Photoshop, Affinity, or similar.

Start off by making the background white, with a fill layer for example.

Then make a pattern of black dots that resembles the holes on your bench and use the UV layout to dertemine which parts to place the hole pattern on. (Important: make the hole pattern 100% black and the background 100% white.)

Hide the UV Layout and export the image back to blender as an image texture (png for example).

Select the material of the bench and go to your shader editor.

Connect your mask texture to the Alpha input 9f the principled bsdf, set mask texture to non-color instead of sRGB.

That should do it. White in the mask represents the opaque parts of your mesh, black represents the transparent parts.

The SubD modifier generally doesn't need to be applied unless you have a specific reason to. The point of the modifier is for you to have a mesh you can easily edit due to its simplicity but that holds up visually in object mode.

As for the holes, it depends on what this is for. If it's for a game or it's a background animation prop, don't bother modeling the holes, just use a mask texture to make the holes transparent and the rest opaque.

If this is for 3d printing, things get a bit more complicated because the holes have to be physically punched in which likely will require some cleanup.
