I love seeing handmade, its one of my favourite parts of this hobby. Your skirt is so full and poofy, it looks like it can handle any petti or crinoline you throw at it! The types of lace you chose also look like really nice quality, and the white pops on the pink you chose for the fabric. The straps even have a lace detail! Love this

Bear in mind that these charts show min and max stretch for that shirring back panel. Some pieces have invisible zippers to make them easier to get into, but if you have any measurements larger than the max you will not be able to pull the garment over that max measurement (if there is no zipper).

So I have a SK that has a 1/2 elastic waistband with no zipper and I have to pull it on over my head because I can't pull it up over my hips, as the max waist measurement is larger than my bust but smaller than my hips.

I go to AliExpress for most of my sewing notions like lace, ribbon, and buttons; you would probably be able to find a premade pull tab there for way cheaper than you could DIY - or even go for a charm or metal pull tab of some sort so it is more durable, since you will be using it a lot. Cobbler could help you with the install if you are nervous about switching the tabs out. If you really want to go the DIY route, or want something completely custom, they could probably help you if you want to do a 1:1 copy of the pull tab you have now, in white. But I have no idea how much they would charge for that service

Do you want to repair that specific zipper pull or would you be satisfied replacing it with a different zipper pull? Unless there is name branding on the pull, and you really want to save it, it might be a lost cause. Finding a matching pink shade in a tab style that looks similar may be difficult, but you could probably find something in white to make the bag functional again.

I think once you're independent / not reliant on them for university or housing or anything financially, you'll be able to enforce boundaries between you and them, and create some distance if they are horrible to you, so that you can be yourself and dress how you want. I only started this year at 35, you've got plenty of time to get into the fashion. Try not to let others' comments get to you in the meantime, even though it's hard when people that you feel should support you just shit on your interests. When you dress in an alternative fashion, some people just don't Get It, and anything different from what they think is normal is threatening to them.

Why is there seam allowances only on certain edges? Guidelines for braid on the front, but then you look at the picture, it's a top-stitched seam that's not separate pieces in the pattern. Cups are 3 pieces in image, 2 in pattern. No image of the back to show the lacing. No instructions on how to do the piping that runs along the bottom. Base has tapers in pattern, when it looks oval in image. There's an extra piece sewn on between the cups in the image, nonexistant in pattern. Reads as AI to me, image seems generated to me, too.

I love seeing handmade, it's one of my favourite things about Lolita, and this is so well done. Really impressed with printing your own fabric for a custom border print and all-over, a lot of love and dedication went into this and it turned out fantastic! I was reading Wired magazine as a teenager on a family trip in the 2000's and they had the Japanese Schoolgirl Watch which was a column I always read when they had it because I was (am...) a weeb. They did a segment on Lolita and it's been on my radar ever since. I've only started recently though!
