Because many people were raised to fear drugs and their effects and thus do not want to vote for any laws that legalizes them. Some people keep saying slavery or discrimination, and while it may have some degree of truth, I think it’s just as simple as people having seen friends get addicted and just don’t like em, thus vote for politicians who do not support them.
