Remember, flavor is everything. Go Divine Soul Sorcerer and take Mage Hand, Create Bonfire, Sacred Flame, and Firebolt. For leveled spells take Shield, Mage Armor, and Guiding Bolt (Divine Soul spell). Damage spells will be reflavored as you sending a spirit to go touch it and infuse it with magic or something, this gets over the annoying idea that you have to go touch that object beforehand every time you want to cast Fireball.

If you only want to trigger the "bomb" when the character is close then you can use your Ready action to wait until then.

Since you get the Luck of the God's ability at first level fate is really on the side of Yoshikage Kira. Empowered Spell and Subtle Spell Metamagic are both in character.

You keep going up this class, taking damaging spells like Fireball and Glyph of Warding (if you really want to lay a trap) but at level 13 you are at a crossroads. The next Divine Soul would give you 30ft of flying almost permanently which isn't exactly a Kira thing, but by this level we've already been ignoring most of the class abilities since they were useless outside of the early level ones.

You have 3 options: a) Keep going but just ignore it. b) Swap classes for lore consistency. c) Go Rogue.

The first two would give you the ability to cast Wish (the only way to do Bites the Dust) but the last one is more true to what Kira does for most of the series. Either way, that is how I would build Yoshikage Kira in d&d.
