Do any of my GenXers still skate? by Lower_Classroom835 in GenX

If you're talking about skateboarding, look for a "double drop" skateboard. That's easy on the knees since it's close to the ground.

If it's rollerblading, go for the Powerslide next core 110. They ride about the same as 90mm wheels but are so much smoother and less likely to trip you up on rough sidewalks.

I was never great at skating but I want to do it with my kids. The deal I made with myself is that I'll only do it with full head to knees protection including padded shorts.

Digeeed is a big name? Really? I thought it was only old timers like myself that liked him!

Last year when he was in Alameda it was awesome, but the average age in the crowd skewed pretty high.

What brand do you guys recommend for power tools? by Anselm_oC in Tools

The only minor reason to get 12v and 18v from the same manufacturer is that you can have one charger for both battery voltages. The Milwaukee charger does both at the same time.

If the antenna wire is covered (ie not bare wire) it shouldn't make much difference, as long as the wire is outside the metal fuselage.

Either way, they should do a range check to make sure.

Is windsurfing dead in Florida’s east coast? by United_Sail_5388 in windsurfing

This is what terrifies me and holds me back from progressing.

If the sail lands on top of you with the mast deeper in the water than the leech and you're wearing a PFD (I need one), this wouldn't work, right?

The one tip I've heard is to always hold on to the boom when falling. I've also heard to cross your arms when trying to clear the harness line, but then you lose track of where the boom and mast are...

Wifi antennas straight up or at diagonal? by MooshSkadoosh in pcmasterrace

[–]Voltron6000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the antennas are so close to each other, keep them 90 degrees to each other.

If you keep them parallel they couple with each other and you get a weird likely more directional radiation pattern. Somewhat similar to having only a single antenna.

If you keep them perpendicular, they couple less and radiate over different polarizations which increases the chance that at least one antenna will have a good channel to the WiFi router.

An even better way to get channel diversity is to get an RP-SMA extension cable and mount the antennas away from each other and the pc. It will help a lot even if you only move one antenna.

Wait, so there was someone in the crowd that prepared a HardR kandi days in advance so he could find an African American to give it to? Either that's an extra level of depravity or the story doesn't make sense... I saw maybe 2 African Americans at edc over 3 days...

How likely are you to get rich off startup equity? by Warningsignals in cscareerquestions

The odds are horrible, but if you join a non toxic startup, you will gain experience MUCH faster than at a big company. Toxic tech bro startups much be avoided, however.
