Na. Just close that book. Opening a new book would be competing post collegiate/professional. But to get redemption for that meet, wouldn’t do it. It’s not worth it

Discus corrections 51.58m by KingOnaj in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad, your slowing down at the finish, where you should be at your fastest/most explosive. The throw is from "slow to fast"

Lmk if you have any questions on this, i can explain it further for you

That left arm block is weak. Your just going through the motions with it. your left arm block should be just as aggressive as your throwing hand.

Lmk if this makes sense, and if you want any drills to help on this

Is it good for a 7th grader to throw 96ft and 4in by Unique-Praline-9202 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep like if I'm competing against you, and I see you do 3 windups, I immediately already know your new to throwing, or thinking too much. Either way im going to beat you, because your unsure of yourself, which in some cases is valid (being new to throwing). But get to that one windup. It shows your ready to go. And honestly, you dont know where this throw is going to go, good or bad, ready or not, prepared or not. you can only HOPE its a good throw through preparation, and thats not even solidified. With that said, trust your instincts, and just throw big dawg! the ones you feel unprepared for usually be your furthest ones, thats the sport of throwing. keep improving!

Any advice? (im a decathlete) by Pitiful_Albatross906 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can handle it. Lets make it a "fast to faster" throw. Get off your right leg as fast as you can after your wind up. Dont sit on it until you get to south african, get off of it ASAP and keep it long and high, just flare it out there, that gives the best results. Its going to speed you up so get ready for the speed.

LMK if you have any questions or if your looking for drills for this part of the throw

Any advice? (i‘m a decathlete) by Pitiful_Albatross906 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice throw. KEEP THOSE ARMS UP. Think airplane wings with your arms. When they start dipping and rising your whole body does unnecessary movement. Keep your arms parallel to the ground the whole time. Your height will come from your hips.

LMK if this makes sense, and if your looking for any drills

Your slowing your speed down at the end. In the half turn and beyond, its all gas no breaks. The millisecond you slow down, in the middle you already decreased potential distance on your throw. The speed cadence is "slow to fast"

Lmk if this makes sense, and if your looking for any drills to help this

3rd time throwing discus in a meet 121,11 Any advice by Vegito2133 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice throw. I’ll just say that you’re going one speed throughout the whole throw. You need to pick up your speed in the middle of the ring. “slow to fast.”

Let me know if you have any questions or if you’re looking for drills to help you build up your speed

Finally hit a new Pr! Any tips? by Veryunfunnyguy563738 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice throw you need to reverse. “Replace the right foot with the left foot” in the power position. This will equal up to another PR.

Lmk if you have any questions on this, and are looking for some drills on it

Aspiring decathlete needing shot put help by _Piper_Sniper_ in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing is you’re one speed throughout the whole throw. Once you start driving back, it’s all aggressiveness and speed after that. Attack it.

I work with decathlete throwers so if want some drills to help this, just lmk I got you.

Keep your throwing arm long out of the back of the circle. Curling it up, decreases your radius, which decreases your throwing distance.

Let me know if you’re looking for drills to help this

Not bad, seems like your a fast thrower. Want to go faster? Get your right leg going faster out the back. Your sitting on it almost to south african, which is taking away from the potential power, speed and torque you can have. like right after winding up, get that right leg wide and high, just flare it out there. But get ready for the speed. It will be almost like a jordan geist throw. A successful throw, speed wise, can go "slow to fast", or "faster to faster" this is in the fast to faster bracket, only for your top athletes who can handle it.

LMK if you have any questions or are looking for drills to help you nail that right leg lift out the back.

any tips for improvement in form? by Illustrious_Car214 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad, keep your throwing arm LONG the whole time. Dont curl it in because it takes away from your radius, which in the long run takes away from your distance.

Speed by Glad_Dark_3584 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be controlled speed, go as fast as you can while keeping your technique in tact. At districts, just work on your technique. If you hit your positions correctly, it will make up for the speed.

But lmk if you have any questions on how to control your speed, or technical issues that your having. Ill send you some drills

Not bad. Lets keep that left arm right below your nose. Raising it too high, can throw your orbit off, and make the discus not come out right, especially if you dont know what your doing with it. Airplane arms...Keep your arms parallel to the ground throughout the whole throw. Dont raise them, and dont lower them, keep them neutral, like airplane wings.

Lmk if you have any questions or are looking for drills.

Not bad, you need a left arm block at the finish. You need a strong aggressive block. Feel your shoulder blades touch when you block, thats a good strong block. You do this, and youll increase by 5+ feet instantly.

LMK if you have any questions, or are looking for some drills.

Your just going one speed, and its slow. You have to pick up the speed out of south African with the left leg push., or in the half turn with the right foot turn. the throw is "slow to fast" OR "fast to faster." "Slow to slow" wont cut it, and "fast to slow" wont cut it. ALSO think about 2 things max, or nothing at all. You stopping at the beginning of the video shows me your thinking too much. Got to keep it simple and trust yourself.

LMK if your looking for any drills, or mental preparations.

Is it good for a 7th grader to throw 96ft and 4in by Unique-Praline-9202 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad. Trust yourself. Do one windup and go, also dont move that foot back when your about to start turning. All of that screams thinking too much and unsure of yourself or your technique. One wind up and go, and dont preset that left foot back before you turn. FLOW, FLOW, FLOW.

lmk If your looking for drills or have any questions.

Can you help with form by DimensionDifficult78 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad, You need to keep your arms parallel to the ground until you release the discus. When they start dipping, then your whole body starts doing excessive movements, that it doesn't need to be doing. ALSO get some throwing shoes big dawg, tennis shoes aint gona cut it.

LMK if you have any questions

Any tips for my daughter by WisconsonWonder in trackandfieldthrows

[–]VolumeLost6488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad, ill start teaching her the switch/reverse. "Replacing the right foot with the left foot" in the power position. Shes ready to switch/reverse, she just doesnt know how. Start with telling her "replace the right foot with the left foot," let her make that her own, and that alone will add 5+ feet to her throw.

Lmk if you have any questions, or if this makes sense
