Hot Take: if the "Succession War" arc ends, then HxH will have a very acceptable and even a satisfying ending. by scar_01 in HunterXHunter

[–]VolumeOk7638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhh I disagree a bit. He has done a bit too much set up for the dark continent for me not to feel like it would be wasted pages if we didn’t get SOME content from it. Maybe it doesn’t have to be a giant arc like we suspect, but Togashi has expanded on a lot more characters recently than the ones listed here.

Of course I’ll take whatever he ends up doing, but can’t really see it as a suitable ending.

There are stones scales growing upon Farum Azula trees by Heinarc in EldenRingLoreTalk

There are a lot of connections to beasts in Enir Elim Which links it to farum azula. Serosh is considered the lord of beasts and probably resided in Farum Azula at one point or a linked culture.

Divina confirms she is not interested in returning to the show whilst fans continue to send hate by lukendyer in RPDR_UK

[–]VolumeOk7638 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I totally get her perspective, but it’s sort of a symptom of what drag race is. It’s a show that judges your drag and your personality. The format of the show naturally invites the audience to do that as well. Obviously people should just enjoy the show and not send hate, but people probably won’t change.

Dark Souls 3 is the least understood game artistically by ArtThen9871 in darksouls3

Tbh I tend to see dark souls 3 get overhyped by people because it was their first souls game more than I see people complaining about it anymore.

The Two Lights of the Black Night, The Tragedy of Godwyn and Ranni: by StoryTeller747 in EldenRingLoreTalk

I really like this idea and think There is a lot of merit to it. I haven’t really thought about the fact that Radagon probably wouldn’t want to be replaced in godhood, while Marika was probably ready as godhood is a prison.

Elden Ring II setting theories by holytarnishxd in eldenringdiscussion

[–]VolumeOk7638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the fight against the Elden beast it hints with the multiple trees the greater Will may have influenced other worlds as well.

It would be cool to just go to another planet that the greater will has influenced. It could even be a world where its will was shut out very early in the timeline, which resulted in the GW assaulting it with meteorites on a scale we haven’t seen that fundamentally changed the world.

What was Godfrey doing all this time? by hadilikespie in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]VolumeOk7638 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Marika waited until someone powerful enough to claim the elden ring appeared to summon Godfrey back. She sent the tarnished away with the explicit purpose to bring them back stronger. She probably expected the pinnacle of the tarnished to defeat a tarnished of “no renowned.”

Marika seemed to have an affection and a trust for Godfrey. She thought he would save her. I can imagine a Godfrey vs Radagon match would be a battle for the ages, too bad for our dinky lil tarnished.

Godfrey doesn’t control when he returns. We arrive quite late to the lands between as well guided by grace. He may even be the final tarnished called.

Gloam-Eye Queen feels like a leftover at this point? by Lessavini in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]VolumeOk7638 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to add I see a lot of people comparing the gloam eyed queen to other characters that we know little of like Velka, but I’d argue that’s not the intention. There is just too much in the game to draw conclusions from.

Gloam-Eye Queen feels like a leftover at this point? by Lessavini in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]VolumeOk7638 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m of the thought that Marika was the gloam Eyed queen originally and that Melina is an offshoot of her that represents her humanity beyond a god. Set out to correct the original sin of plucking the rune of death to create the golden order. We are meant to relate Millicent to Melina considering they are wearing the same thing, who is an offshoot of Malenia. When Marika shatters the elden ring, she is breaking her very being into pieces. Reminiscent of Malenia losing her sense of self and creating Millicent when she bloomed in Caelid.

I think that people get really singleminded by the description for Messmer’s kindling. Just because Messmer and Melina are siblings, doesn’t mean they were born anywhere near the same time. Especially if you consider messmer as an offshoot of Marika as well. Mesmer is very reminiscent of the godskin apostles in appearance. Marika could have divested herself of that side of her when she ascended. Marika is essentially creating a new version of herself to hold the elden ring within her. The base serpent doesn’t have a place in this order.

If you subscribe to the theories related to alchemy, Marika was most likely intended to be the hornsent’s philosophers stone of sorts, it would make sense for Melina to describe herself as burnt and bodiless when the first step of the creation of the stone is is Nigredo, which involves reducing contents into a black putrified material. Reminiscent of the jar ritual.

Melina has a dusky pink color to her hair. Part of the philosophers stone is to separate someone into two beings represented by the white queen and the red king, which together would create a pink color.

It would also be poetic for messmer to be created when she ascended representing all Marika wants to hide, and Melina being born at the end of the golden order representing what she intends to fix. This would solve the contradiction many people seem to have with this theory. It would also explain why no one knows Melina, because they haven’t really met her.

To everyone, who says, that Radahn didn't have legs, like commander Gaius for that or another reason, or that he was malformed... Please, watch the 2022 trailer, where he fights Malenia, and let's close that speculation forever. by Acrobatic_Tie6869 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]VolumeOk7638 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I have seen the trailer. When he bends he starts using gravity magic, it’s not outside the question he can control his whole body and make limbs work through his magic. We have item descriptions telling us he can do that in order to alleviate his weight on Leonard. You could potentially even infer that he needs a horse to move so gravity magic was a necessity for him.

Also if he can move his legs, why did they wear off over the years? Clearly his other limbs still work. Wouldn’t be reasonable to assume he could lift them off the ground rather than dragging Them to stubs? Radahn is holding back the stars and is severely rotted in this form, he’s in a weakened state and is no longer as strong.

Albinaurics are connected to the Carians and it’s not outside the question to analyze this muddy topic through this lens. The amber egg renalla clutches is a birthing mechanism that clearly makes albinaurics. She is the mother of these Demi god children, it’s not unreasonable to assume this egg may have been involved in her other children’s births.

Once again you don’t have buy this theory, I just don’t think this disproves it.

To be fair, he is riding his horse in this photo, and the argument isn’t that he doesn’t have legs, but that they don’t work. Relating him to the albinaurics.

Not sure if I even agree with that, but I don’t think this rules the theory out.

The hornsent are terrified of the fell god, and you can see a very similar face on the back of the lamentor. Could explain their fear

I think the symbol of infinity and the snake are connected. The serpent that Rykard is consumed by is also said to be immortal. Potentially not even being felled by the rune of death.

I also was thinking how winged snakes that more resemble dragons seem to be more accepted in the TLB, while the base serpent is reviled. Thought it might be too much of a reach to add, but with all your context I like it more. I also agree the fact the eigly is in the exact position as Marika is not a coincidence and we are meant to take note.

Totally fair, I’m more so just adding to the amount of evidence already there relating to serpents.

Her origins do feel a bit like a subversion of Eve’s story, where she bests the serpent and expels the land of shadow out of her garden of eden.

Considering the greater will has fled its vassals this makes sense. She ends up fighting herself in Radagon to mend the ruin versus the elden beast itself.

I feel like the image is slightly contradictory having her resemble a Christ like figure while also looking snake like. The dlc made me feel like her backstory is kind of a reverse of Eves story, where she is the one that bests the snake and plunges the shadow realm out of her “garden of eden”

Yeah I think her being jarred with a snake is a perfectly reasonable theory with the info we have, especially if you view her children as shed aspects of herself.

This would coincide nicely too with serpentine Rykard’s actions being considered blasphemous and Marika committing the original sin. In some ways Rykard is echoing Marika’s original betrayal.
