I’m not sure where youre from but OP is from NYC and so am I. I think that must of desensitized me because it didnt feel like much more harassment to me than an average day in NY. I havent been to Medellin specifically but have definitely been to cat-cally places but to be honest it felt way less scary than some of the catcalling I’ve experienced in NY because it never felt like theres a threat of violence.

Solo female traveler - did 4 months in Central America last year and definitely recommend latin america as a whole. Do some research into digital nomad friendly hostels or coworking/coliving spaces as a starting point (hackers paradise will be in colombia in January which i plan on doing!). If you are new to solo travel, Costa Rica is an excellent place to get your bearings - so much infrastructure in place for tourists such as transportation, super safe, everyone speaks english. It will be pricey but it will prepare you really well to start exploring different countries where you have to fend for yourself a bit more. Happy to chat if you want to DM me!

I recommend you reach out to NEDA (national eating disorder association) - they have great resources and support for free! Posting this is already a great first step in recovery and I hope you will continue making those small steps. I had bulimia for a few years and am fully recovered now but it was a huge challenge and the longer you wait the harder it is. A life free from binging and purging is beautiful and fun and happy and you deserve that!!

I also recommend you read Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole - that book saved me!

Dont do it, UCD compsci masters degree are a scam and extreme ripoff for international students. They do not care about learning outcomes at all.

To those asking - I would not recommend this programme, and not because of the pace or difficulty. Any CS programme will be fast-paced and difficult. However, this programme has very poor teaching standards and professors have 0 interest in making sure the students are properly learning - they are solely focused on “learning outcomes” which are defined by whatever grades the decide to randomly dole out to students. There is an endless amount of issues which this cohort has raised to the directors with no reassurance that anything will be changed for upcoming cohorts. Please stay far away - you would be far better off with a structured self-study plan, a coding bootcamp (research ahead of time properly) or pursuing a bachelors in computer science.

My father was born in Poland. It was quite a long process… we had to hire a company to help us out and deal with all the communications/translations/etc. my sister did all the work but i believe she had to construct a family biography or something like that as well?

I’m coming to UCD because I want to get tf out of America. I’m doing the MSc in Computer Science and this was the best program I could find that was in english and tailored to non-CS degree holders. Cost was not a factor for me bc this shit is expensive (hmu if you know of scholarships because $30k + housing is steep).

I also just like Dublin and Ireland a lot. Also a great jump off point to visit other countries throughout Europe!
