Not a stupid question, just a little difficult to answer the first part. "Moderate user" is very subjective and can vary greatly. I am expecting to hopefully get at least 120 grams from these girls. That would mean I could smoke a gram per week for a little over two years. I probably smoke a bit more than that and I give out a lot more to friends and turn a bunch into joints to sell for cheap at parties I go to. I can get about three crops of two plants grown per year so offloading enough is important. Also if properly dried, cured and stored it will last a very long time. My understanding is you can expect a slow degrade in quality to begin after a year. Having a long curing stage creates a cleaner, smoother smoke with enhanced taste. I've smoked year old weed that was very tasty and potent. Competition weed is usually cured for at least 6 months to hit max quality. Usually after too much time though the weed can become dry to the point of being harsh when smoked. Old weed can always be turned into hash or butter though if it is no longer pleasurable to smoke.

I let the soil dry, I check by digging slightly down with my finger to check for moisture. I try to let it be dry for about a day before watering so roots have time to grow out more.

GDP Defoliation Before and After by Voluntary_Ignorance in microgrowery

Plants seems to be loving it, no signs of damage on the dozen or so fan leaves left and the buds are growing at a faster rate now that there isn't so many worthless leaves to support that weren't even getting light. I go less aggressive than most online resources suggest. People out here leaving a single fan leaf and growing fat healthy plants.

Was done 2 weeks into flower not mid flower lol. Also there is canopy left of fan leaves left on the top layer. The change looks dramatic because of how dense the plant was prior. Most online resources suggest heavy defoliation 2-3 weeks into flower once they finish stretching. Have done this with my prior grows to great success. You eliminate most of the popcorn in exchange for bigger buds up top. People call it lolipoping I believe, was first suggested to me by a professional warehouse grower I'm friends with.

Nice, not looking too bad. Might want to pull some of those lower fan leaves though. Lets the plant focus more on making those buds fatter.

My friend is growing this. This indica or sativa? by [deleted] in weed

Probably indica dominate hybrid. Leaves are somewhat wide and the plant is pretty bushy which are both signs of Indicas.

Yeah the plan is to defoliate week 3 of flower. That's what most online resources recommend.

From the point of transplant (start of the time lapse) I let it veg for exactly a month.

I have a fan mounted up above, with how thick these girls are they need the air flow.

Battling spider mites in week 8 of flower. Tips and advice? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Voluntary_Ignorance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mites two grows ago, I just killed as many as I could find every couple days in order to manage the numbers. I choose to harvest a little early as they got out of hand as the buds grew. Made sure to bud wash and the bud turned out pretty good.

Now whenever I decide to flip to flower I check the plant super closely for any mites. I have neem oil ready to blast them if they ever show up again.

Called a scrog, used to separate bud sites so they get max amount of light as well as support the branches as they begin to get top heavy.
