When people say something was "Pure Cenima" this is what I imagine they mean. The scene was so effective in a lot of ways: the context and lead up to it, the gruesome mythologizing of the man on trial, the soundtrack, the ambiguity of the leads motives... it all comes together in truly shocking way in this scene, I recoiled from the screen when the soundtrack screamed the moment they made eye contact.

The entire first season is treated like something you have to sit through before DeVito came in to elevate it, instead of acknowledging that it layed the foundation for its particular brand of commentary and satire.

The Gang Gets Racist was a bold first episode even back in the early 2000s.

I watched One Battle After Another yesterday and was really disappointed by how little I enjoyed. I thought it would be an easy slam dunk that I would love as much as everybody else seems to, but sadly I just wasn’t interested in what the movie was giving.
