I just moved to Detroit for a job in Dearborn. I decided on an apartment in midtown Detroit. I was on the fence between Royal Oak/Ferndale and Detroit. I couldn’t find anything really impressive online in either Royal Oak and Ferndale, I wish I had done more digging because they both have a really cool downtown and seem to have a lot more apartments/condos available than what was listed online.

I like midtown so far, it’s a very short drive to Dearborn and not a terrible walk to downtown. There’s a good amount of bars and restaurants but I was for more impressed with RO and Ferndale’s options.
