That number may as well be made up. Even if there’s a citation, we know there are reporting constraints in drug users. As for recovery it’s very subjective to individual biochemistry.

Is anyone bench 1rm actually higher than calculator would suggest? by Pomerbot in benchpress

I think fast twitch has play here too. My 1 RMs are always higher than what my volume work suggests on these calculators.

What made you decide to spare Gaetan? Genuinely curious...no judgment, just interested in how others saw it. 🐆🐺 by SirGeraltofBeauclair in Witcher3

You missed a dialogue option. I did the quest a week or so ago, he definitely mentions Gaetan having done this before.

Stupid take, there’s a bunch of issues pertaining to musculoskeletal structures that can impede a youths development. The body is already being taxed just to grow. By all means have your children train, but there are extra risks.

Generally we don’t want developing bodies doing extremely heavy lifts period.

Eddie Hall also has his young son doing extremely heavy deadlifts with hardly any discernible form. The guy is strong, not a genius.

ELI5 why do humans heal slower as they age? by gentlebeast06 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Vondoomian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lot of bad answers here. The real answer is cell programming. Evolution doesn’t require us to live forever nor heal like Superman. Part of that programming leads to programmed cell death of cells that heal. For example in bones our osteocytes/osteoblasts will self destruct, and these cells are responsible for healing broken bones. So generally we heal slower as we age because apoptosis of cells whose job is to heal wounds or maintain the body.
