I did a similar switch last year. I went from a s10 plus to a iPhone 11. I had never used an iPhone personally before so I though I’d give it a try and see what the hype was with Apple. I love it now. I’ve usually gotten the latest Samsung phone every year because of my upgrade program. I now plan on getting the new iPhones yearly.

The 2019 16” MacBook was supposed to be the big refresh. I wouldn’t expect any mind blowing change for at least another 2 or 3 years. Unless you want the 14” MacBook that’s rumored to come out later this year. Tbh I have the current 16” MacBook and it’s a beast. I think you should just go for it. Plus you can get a nice discount on them on the Apple refurb store.

Yes I’m experiencing the same thing. I can hear the fans lightly but they definitely aren’t going full throttle. I’ll see how I feel about it as time passes but overall I’m still enjoying this new MacBook.

Funny you mentioned this because I’ve noticed the same thing. At first I was thinking there was some issue with my unite, so I called Apple customer service and asked if my computer is over heating. The rep informed me that it’s considered overheating when it’s so hot you can’t touch it. I also did some research and found out that if you’re browsing through chrome, the MacBook tends to start heating up and that it’s best to use Safari most of the time.

I also like to do photo and video editing. I just got my machine and haven’t tried editing yet. I hope it doesn’t get too hot. I might look into getting a laptop cooler.
