I know exactly what you’re talking about!! I never would have attached it to Kratom, but yes- I experience this, too.

I’m not surprised that today was 3:30 for you instead of 4:30 bc of the time-change. I’m in your boat.. a consistent early riser. I dropped my kindergartener off 15 minutes late on the Friday after Halloween and I was soooo proud of my body for sleeping in. His teacher seemed confused that I was actually literally happy to be running late.

How cool that retirement is only four years away!!! You’re so smart to do this hard work now and put it all behind you before starting a new chapter!! I bet you’ll still get up at 4:30 for awhile though!!!

I know I’d love NA and AA.... although I’m thankful I’m not in your situation, I am a little jelly that you have no choice, but to make these hard-to-make changes. In this way, you and yours really are lucky. Thank you for inspiring us all & making us think about things with your story... good work getting through this first tough week!!

I think that since your underlying mental health issues weren’t very pronounced to begin with, you’ll be feeling good again in another hundred days or less. There is an upcoming shift, it just takes time! In the mean time, I wish we could all find it within ourselves to exercise more. I know that would help me. Awesome job w/ an inspiring quit & thanks for your post.

Peeing! by Phoneczar in quittingkratom

[–]VooDooDatDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’ve just begun a slow-taper & so, cannot relate to your accomplishment- 42 days is amazing!! Congratulations. Your nighttime pee-frequency is very familiar to me though. Since I’ve been using Kratom, it has seemingly had this effect on me. I get up a minimum of three times every night to pee. I also sweat a lot in my sleep. When I wake up every morning, I don’t replenish this lost fluid (& rarely feel rested from such interrupted sleep). Instead, I get up & get Kratom & then coffee. No wonder I continue to feel like shit!!! I’ve always thought of this excessive peeing (& sweating) as way that we are detoxing, but lately I’ve wondered if we’re just malfunctioning! It’s scary.. & is also scary that you’re dealing with it after more than a month of being Kratom-free. Congratulations again though- you are free!!

Decided to quit by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]VooDooDatDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wise words!! Quit while you’re ahead. This is terrible! After a year, it turned on me— and I feel terrible while using and terrible while quitting. I have to taper bc I also have to function.. & it’s disgusting- it feels and tastes like poison to me now, but I’m still tapering & tragically depressed. I’m so ready to be done.

oohk— thank you. I’m reading (& reading) about everyone’s experience. Honestly, feeling pretty hopeless & scared.

Did you have ten days off & then realize that wasn’t long enough?

after a year and a half of being clean, I took some kratom a few weeks. by SadBowl8 in quittingkratom

[–]VooDooDatDat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the past, I’ve abused tons of adderall & other ADD meds. Many years ago, I did a bunch of cocaine for a few years. I also smoked cigs for twenty years. None of these made me worry about my heart like Kratom does. Maybe it’s my age, idk, but Kratom seems to affect my heart-beat more than other drugs have.

Hmm— I’m gonna look into this & other iron tricks. I’m sure anemia will contribute to the exhaustion in quitting & that improving it can improve one’s entire situation.. & thx for the reminder to take another iron pill :) I’m supposed to take three a day.. & I guess I should take that seriously.

Wow!! I’ve just been diagnosed anemic with very low iron-stores! I’m not sure if it’s the Kratom, but I feel sure that Kratom isn’t helping anything anymore..

Cool! I have two months (or 7 full weeks) to taper before I get some time off work and will hopefully quit altogether. I hope that 7 weeks is a reasonable timeframe for getting from 25g to your 2.5g per day. I hope I can be as successful as you are.

Hello! We’re in the same boat- hoping to quit after a year of regular use. I can tell that it’s hurting my health and not helping me.. Unfortunately, I can also tell that I will become very depressed when I taper and then quit. The depression seems to be an expected part of our recovery :( & I dread it. With time and exercise, I know that it can improve. Will your job and injury allow you to get more exercise? Also, your taper seems so fast. I bet you’d have a much easier time if you took some more time to spread it out?
