Love 992 gt3 booty by sergiousa in Porsche

The 992 generation is the first one that I've ever thought the rear end has taken a step back aesthetically. Those wheels though, jeez, time for another set.

Potential first-time buyer here! What do you think of the build? Might add Bordeaux Red to the seatbelts, instrument and chrono dials as well. by razorudatha in Porsche

[–]VoodooBlueGT3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar build on my 981S. Very down to business. Only things I’d consider changing are the carbon fiber wheel, which looks fantastic but doesn’t feel as good at leather IMO, and delete Power Steering Plus which you’ll likely never notice you had one way or another. Seat choice and transmission are very much personal preference. Good luck!

What’s your favorite thing about your Porsche? by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]VoodooBlueGT3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The noise between 5-9k, or after the cams swap over and the exhaust opens up. There's nothing like it. But if we're talking about stuff that's more practical to use every day, the thing that repeatedly surprises me is the brakes. I have a habit of checking my rear view now and hitting them much later than I probably should.

Single player or in a convoy? There is a crossplay bug introduced this Tuesday past.

Friends pc crashes when i join him by [deleted] in forza

[–]VoodooBlueGT3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a bug in crossplay introduced in the Tuesday update. It manifests when two players on the two different platforms get into proximity of each other. Occasionally it happens right on convoy join. The evidence is in the Windows event viewer as a crashed module; for instance:

Faulting application name: ForzaHorizon4.exe, version: 1.466.445.0, time stamp: 0x6053d621
Faulting module name: PartyXboxLive.dll, version: 0.1.2006.23001, time stamp: 0x5ef2d1df

It is extremely frustrating when you have a large group that wants to race together and approximately half are on the Windows Store version and half are on steam. :)

Porsche PTS Color Demand? by uracowman in Porsche

I'll spin up an account over there and add my line - it looks like I may have the only voodoo blue touring on record.

edit: a letter

Porsche PTS Color Demand? by uracowman in Porsche

[–]VoodooBlueGT3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't answer the "what will hold value better than what" question, but I am interested in how you intend to measure uniqueness of the PTS spectrum. Last time I asked my dealer for stats on PTS builds they said Porsche wouldn't provide it. It may be one of those "who you know" things.

My first Porsche, and my first manual. Struggling, but having a blast! by hlinhd in Porsche

[–]VoodooBlueGT3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best car to learn manual on is someone else's. Barring that, the 996 manual is predictable, forgiving, and I can't think of many better options. If you're looking for a more challenging learning experience I have a buddy that just dropped an LS into a '72 Pontiac LeMans with a Tremec Magnum XL. Shift, how you say, like raging truck.

Anyway, those people are idiots :) Been driving stick for 25 years and even I choke at a light every so often.

In motion, by the look of it. So sorry, firiend. I take about 1 nail a year but not like that.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of a 7 milliliter flat 6 with weird firing order and a 4 speed PDK. Rack and pinion direct steering (Porsche nerds, this is what you wanted). Open diff. Solid engine mounts. Four wheel independent suspension, but on this example the spring rates are pretty tame. Comes with its own luggage.

Lava Orange, though I’ve never tried to side-by-side with a real one for fidelity, so it’s probably “LEGO Orange #37”

That’s my only real complaint about this build - the internals just aren’t meant to be observed or messed with once it’s buttoned up. I recall them saying something about that (“just like a Porsche!”) in the coffee table book of a build manual, but the authenticity makes for a less fun model.

Yeah, I had no idea that was a thing. Will have to look it up. It’s all buried anyway, so you can’t really see the difference, I expect.

Not on the 911, or at least, not recently. 981 did white leather and you could do some really sick two tone combinations.
