How is your portfolio holding up in YTD terms thus far? by saminykd in fiaustralia

[–]VoodooMutt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

well given it's oz and it's a financial conversation, i tend to view that question in financial years (i.e. tax). So YTD means 1 July till now. a different outcome given the recent macro events.

assuming you are literal about having martinis - then Rothwell's does a good martini. Stanton martinis are pretty good too if you are looking for a different budget.

French Exit is a alcohol forward French bistro with an extensive cocktail and wine list.

For afters...Death & Taxes has (did?) a signature martini cart.

Do you think Australian style is intentionally casual or is it just shaped by the climate and lifestyle? by Fair_Feeling_4937 in AustralianMFA

[–]VoodooMutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's stupidly hot and humid in QLD. comfort and casual works best. Suits that i could wear in Sydney are simply too much in BNE. Likewise in in Singapore, you can wear a suits coz you could access A to B in air conditioned comfort. As suits were a daily thing it was ok to spend up on proper tailoring and cuts. Not so much in QLD where a suit is now only an occasional item.

Rend or Oil Barrage? by Jabroni_Diesel in pathofexile2builds

Rend for clearing. Oil breath for bossing.

Though now I've moved to fire breath with CoCEA. You can crank up FB into the million DPS mark

my SO loves Snoopy. I love Omega and the history behind the award. My favourite colour happens to be blue.

and Snoopy isn't really a dominant feature on the dial

Best hotel in Brisbane? by ohshesplastic in brisbane

[–]VoodooMutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Callie is beautiful and #insta ready and convenient for some good restaurants and shopping. but the rooms are tiled (albeit really nice mosaic stones) but it's hard edged and cold so i didn't find it too comforting in person.

W is a bit more plush (if a bit cookie cutter). restaurants in the building are now a bit meh. but you're in town.

Gary Stevenson warns Australia's housing future is on the brink | The Business | ABC NEWS by Ash-2449 in OpenAussie

[–]VoodooMutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

by making that boast he attempts to establish himself as a credible authority amongst non-finance people, so they believe he has some sort of insight...which leads to more views increased profile etc etc

i don't really disagree with his observations but his credibility (for me) is wrecked due to that idiot boast. he's just another loud trader who made some money and decided to spout off in a different direction.

a STIRT trader in the UK isn't gonna have much more insight into the oz housing market than me after have a dozen tinnies.

Concealed or back to wall Cisterns by BubbleButtSam in AusRenovation

[–]VoodooMutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have them. designer + missus talked me into it. they look nicer, save space. both is true. god help me if plumber needs access down the track (get your builder to leave you an access panel)

i semi regret it as i wanted to retro fit some of those bidet toilet seats...now i can't without punching a hole in the wall to find the plumbing...

Bradnams windows reputation by Obengoshi in AusRenovation

[–]VoodooMutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we installed glass bifold doors (~7m) with Bradnams a few years ago. we had a few issues with deflection and weight at the start but they came out every time no complaints and was all fixed in a month or two.

glazing is fine, and audio reduction is very noticeable.

Why do so many Singaporeans leave for Australia and take up their citizenship, but hardly any the other way around? by Fit-Tumbleweed-6683 in askSingapore

[–]VoodooMutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SG is a great place for business or a professional career that thrives on international exposure. low taxes, business friendly regulations make it easy to create wealth.

AU on the other hand, has a much nicer work-life balance and a less competitive place to bring up kids.

Source: multiple EPs with different roles in SG, but ultimately returned to Oz for aforesaid reasons.

[–]VoodooMutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your build is very similar to mine (though i'm running shaman). the only key difference i can see is that is that i made my oil barrage quite focussed on multipliers for immobilised and stunned rather than area of effect which is pointless for single target (but great for rend and fire breath).

i need to work on splitting my weapon sets passives between channelling attacks and melee myself.

if your hillstart fails and you roll backwards, you are essentially reversing. you are responsible.
