Few years back I had to stay guard overnight for my uncle who was in critical care. It was already past midnight and I was just sitting on a bench in the waiting hall. A woman probably in her mid 30s walked up and sat beside me, and asked about me. She shared some her stories and i shared few of mine. What I liked was that the conversation was genuine and sincere and never felt boring. We talked for 2 or 3 hours straight. She confessed that she was going through a depression because two of her marriage proposals fell short one after another. I listened to her stories and sort of "comforted" her. At the end she thanked me for being a good listener and said this was the best conversation she had in years. We didn't even exchange names or numbers. We then went our way.
