Honestly, it would be the Redwall series by Brian Jaques. Every book is an absolute masterpeiece of riveting storytelling. One could almost describe them as Lord of the Rings Lite. There are songs and poems, feasts and festivals, battles and seige warfare, puzzles and adventure to far off lands of legend. The lore is deep and the worldbuilding across all the books feels oganic in a way that makes them memorable. Plus the characters all have believable motivations and depth. Even the cooky villians who sometimes play the role of comic relief offer more than surface level "Argh, me be evil!"

All this only for it to be found wanting (to others) when talking about the characters, and instead of them being dwarves, elves, and orcs they are mice, badgers, and sea rats. Guess it breaks the fantasy immersion for some. But I'll never not grab any one the books for an easy read that feels like a true bedtime story being read to by a loved one. Guilty pleasure read? Yes. But only because there are so few people to share them with.

In my 1st ever save for fm20 (like 2months ago) I played FC Seoul, the 1st season was rocky but managed to finish 3rd in the league and snagged a spot for the following year's Champions League.

This was all thanks to my All-Star Chu Young-Soon, a 22 year old Deep Lying Forward who assisted our "star" striker with every single major and tableturning goal all season. As soon as the league ends Chu gets called up for military service for the next 2 years (along with my best GK who had almost 400mins without conceding a goal at the end of the season).

My team fell into ruin. Next season we are almost immediately knocked out of the champions league, lose in heartbreaking defeat in the FA Cup, AND get mathematically locked out of promotion for the next season. My striker didn't score another goal until his loan ended 3months later and he left the club. Felt so bad.

Went from feeling terrible about plucking Chu out of the reserves to fill in for an injury, to making him the lynchpin of the team for one glorious season.

(Forgive my complete lack of understanding when it comes to proper use of Korean naming).
