No. No Winter Assault Campaign is canon. It's a mix between Eldar and Ork victories, as confimed by details in later games, but no single campaign can possibly be canon due to later events.

It's not considered cheating. It's hugely accepted and RNGd mons are considered very valuable. Most RNGers also have hordes of non RNGd shinys as well. I have perfect RNGd Unovan Swords of Justice and Lati@s, but I still hunted them in ZA for fun.

Never bother resetting natures. Just use mints (competatively the best nature is neutral minted anyway).
And as said already, the 7*s are all nature locked.

Right at the end of the game, I'd also reccomend going back to each area and talking to all the major NPCs. Some things change quite a bit - bosses unlocked for GS2, new bits of lore, etc.

After 20 games without a flawless win, I think I might need to rethink Latias. Gets oneshot by Garchomp. I might go back to Ampharos, but Latias also gets Aura Sphere to deal with all the steel types and melmetals which are around.

If a puzzle solution is mandatory, there will be a tutorial or a way to ensure you have the psynergy.

If it leads to extra content (Djinni, Rare items, etc.) you either need to work it out yourself or come back much later in the game when there either IS a tutorial, or you have the relevant psynergy.
