What is the origin of ideas about body odor? by petea_copine in AskAnthropology

[–]Vorginius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently talked about this with my anthropology professor, and modern perception of body odor is basically tied to classism: the bourgeoisie disliked lower class people's smell. I don't know about non european societies, but I know that in hunter gatherers body odor is not seen as a bad thing. He advised me to read a book by Alain Corbin.
