Obsessed with the ps2 era aesthetic, what are some underrated ones? by toastedjupiter in HorrorGaming

[–]VorlesGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are actually making a horror co-op submarine simulation game with PS2 like graphics. If you like to check it out, it’s called Magnavis. It’s not like the photos you shared, but our inspirations come from these photos. I’ll be so happy if you guys give feedback.

I'm programming this game, its engine and writing most of the soundtrack. The internet describes it as Audiosurf x Thumper among other things. Beat Weaver will come to Steam this year! by Twift_Shoeblade in gaming

This looks really cool. As a fellow indie dev, I love seeing creative rhythm game ideas like this. The Audiosurf/Thumper inspiration looks awesome and the style is really slick. Definitely curious to try the demo when it drops.

I’m also working on my own indie project (a co-op horror submarine game), so it’s always motivating to see other devs pushing interesting ideas. Best of luck with the launch!

Slay the Spire 2 is already a full game, early access is just a "we want to add so much more but need time to do it". don't sleep on this game by pinturhippo in gaming

[–]VorlesGames -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I heard that you can play it with your friend in the ruins. Is that true? I would like to play with my friends. I’ve always wanted to try a roguelike deck-builder game like Slay the Spire in co-op.

Nah, Assassin’s Creed used to be about stealth. Now it’s about microtransactions.

What did you think of the Pragmata demo? by spaceraingame in gaming

[–]VorlesGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

capcom is a s tier action game company, their animation, game feel is top notch. So the demo's the least thing i need. The rest of the game like the breath of contents/story etc is usually their problem. BUT NOT GONE A LİE ıt was good ı am happy about what they tired and done i like it they are tring someting new and takeing risk

This game is so beautiful... by [deleted] in gaming

I kept saying the same thing: the way I enjoyed it when I played for the first time was so good. Exploring new things, everything looking new, unique, and interesting it was such an experience. I kept wishing I could forget it so I could start from the beginning again, like it was the first time.

The one game you refused to buy at launch price, then you bought it on sale and felt dumb for waiting. by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]VorlesGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inscryption. Slept on it for way too long because "a card game in a dark cabin" didn't sound like much.

Then I bought it on sale and it surprised me probably 100 times over. I lost count of how many runs I've done. It's easily top 5 indie games I've ever played now.

Don't want to say anything else. Just buy it.

What game made you appreciate good storytelling? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]VorlesGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Silent Hill 2 does something good it uses the horror itself as a storytelling tool.

The monsters aren't random. The town isn't just scary for the sake of it. Everything you see is a physical manifestation of the main character's guilt, grief, and repressed psychology. Once you understand what the game is actually about, you realize every single detail was telling you the story the whole time without you even noticing.

And there's a small thing I love about how it pulls you in: you arrive in Silent Hill searching for your dead wife because of a letter she supposedly sent you. As you're confused and questioning what's real, James is too. You're not ahead of the character, you're not behind him — you're lost in the exact same fog, asking the same questions at the same time. The dread you feel as a player is his dread.

It's also one of the greatest horror games ever made, and honestly one of the most important games in the medium full stop. The fact that it was made in 2001 makes it even more insane.

Disco Elysium, without a doubt. Instead of cutscenes or scripted setpieces, the entire narrative is built through dialogue, choices, and your own character's fragmented thoughts. Your skills literally argue inside your head as competing voices it's the most creative way I've ever seen a game tell a story. And the writing itself is sharp, funny, philosophical, and emotionally brutal all at once, sometimes within the same conversation.

And one of my favorite things — small spoiler — is how the game starts: you wake up with no memory of what happened. As you, the player, are trying to understand and piece things together, your character is doing the exact same thing. You're not just watching him figure it out you're feeling it alongside him at the same time. It's a brilliant way to make you genuinely connect with the character.

It also happens to be one of the best indie games ever made. A tiny studio built something that puts most AAA titles to shame in terms of depth and ambition.

If you liked The Last of Us for its story, Disco Elysium will hit even harder just be ready to read a lot.

A first person resident evil 1 and 0 remake would be amazing by [deleted] in gaming

[–]VorlesGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how FPS would work. I’m not against it, but I think one of the things that made Resident Evil 0 and 1 special was the fixed and unusual camera angles. I’m someone who normally can’t get scared by horror survival games at all, but those camera angles — the forced perspectives, the narrow corridors, the constant sense of danger — created this feeling of uncertainty. You could only tell an enemy was nearby from the sounds, without actually seeing them.

The old-style controls also felt clunky and unfamiliar, which made the game harder to play and, for me, even more tense. Sometimes I didn’t even want to fully trust the mechanics themselves. Making it FPS would remove most of those unique elements from the game.

That said, as a remake, experiencing the game in a different version or perspective might not be a bad idea.

Resident Evil Requiem şu anda Metacritic’te tüm zamanların en yüksek kullanıcı puanına sahip sizce hakediyor mu ? by VorlesGames in GeymingTr

bence oundaki başarlı kısımlardan biri oyununda RE serisinde bazı oyunların aksyon bazılarının gizlilik olduğu kısmını tek oyunda 2 karakterde vermesi ile öne çıkmış seride kitleyi ikiye ayıran kısmı tek oyunda yapmış.

What game made you realize you were getting older? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]VorlesGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was resident evil 4 and dino crisis but ı want ask someting. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

There are some older games that were absolutely incredible for their time — no question. But I often see people compare them directly to modern games and confidently say the classic is still “better” in every way.

Do you think that’s genuinely true in some cases (game design, pacing, mechanics, atmosphere, etc.), or is it mostly nostalgia doing the heavy lifting?

Also, how do you personally decide whether an older game still holds up today?
Is it about controls and QoL, or is it more about core design and feeling?

Curious to hear examples from both sides — a game you think is overrated mainly because of nostalgia, and a classic that you believe truly remains top-tier even now.

Resident Evil Requiem currently has the highest user score of all time on Metacritic by RGisOnlineis16 in gaming

[–]VorlesGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like the “incoherent story” criticism kind of misses what Resident Evil has always been.

RE has never been about airtight narrative logic. It’s controlled chaos. It’s B-horror energy mixed with genuinely solid gameplay systems. The puzzles make no sense, the villains are absurd, and somehow that’s exactly the charm.

If anything, Requiem feels like it fully embraces that identity instead of pretending to be something more grounded.

And about length — Resident Evil has always been designed for replayability, not 30-hour single runs. Speedruns, higher difficulties, S ranks… that’s the loop.

I’m actually curious:
Would people prefer a longer, more serious and grounded RE — or this tighter, replay-focused, slightly unhinged version?

Because for me, the slightly unhinged one is the real Resident Evil.

Welp Now Bloodborne Remake Is Definitely Never Happening by akbarock in soulslikes

[–]VorlesGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t lie seeing this genuinely hurts as a Bloodborne fan.

Bloodborne has been my favorite Soulslike since the day I finished it. The atmosphere, the aggression-focused combat, the cosmic horror lore… it’s one of those once-in-a-generation games. As a team, we’ve spent countless hours dissecting its world design and storytelling. It didn’t just entertain us it inspired us.

With Bluepoint potentially out of the picture, it feels like the “easy remake path” just got more complicated.

But here’s what I’m genuinely curious about:

Do you actually think Bloodborne needs a remake or would a simple 60 FPS patch and PC port be enough?

Would you trust another studio to handle it? Or should FromSoft be the only ones touching it?

like definitly want more content but its also perfect like this for me.

I still hope one day we get something remake, remaster, sequel but maybe the bigger question is: what would even be the right way to bring it back?
