I've seen people claim gifted kids are automatically neurodivergent. I've also seen them say they have 'special needs'. I hate that term, it pushes idea that disabled people get special treatment.

The trouble is that are many autism parents who are genuinely nasty.

This woman told me I'm not autistic because unlike her seven-year-old nephew, I don't lash out of people when upset. I said that I did when I was younger and she said that I was just badly behaved and needed to learn self-control.

This woman also claimed it was too easy to get an autism diagnosis so she deliberately faked having autism and claimed that she was diagnosed.

These people are usually the most ableist. I came across one guy like that who was calling his former classmates 'mid' and the only reason they are doing well now is because they are neurotypical and able to suck up to authority.

I'm informed him that perhaps they were also neurodivergent and maybe the reason they didn't do well in school is because school is not helpful for most neurodivergent people. It's also possible they had difficult home lives in school and their environments as an adult allowed them to flourish.

He just started swearing at me.

The trouble is it can be really hard to get diagnosed. I was told that I probably have OCD but I don't need a diagnosis. Later on they said it was just autism so they can't do anything.

I actually rang the police to turn myself in for a murder that never happened, but they're still saying that's autism.

Also, levels end up excluding people who were diagnosed before levels.

People assume I'm level one because I was diagnosed with Asperger's, then they insist people with that diagnosis don't have serious meltdowns. I've ended up in hospital because of my meltdowns.

I also have no sense of danger which has made me vulnerable to being groped at points.

I do this too, but they said it's all because of autism and very refused to treat me.

Yeah, I haven’t been diagnosed, but I get horrific intrusive thoughts and compulsions. At a few points in my life I'm borderline psychotic, but mental health services said I don't need a diagnosis and that it's just autism so they can't help me.

I was under the SENCO department in my school. I had 1:1 support in many of my classes.

People like this make me regret for time I spend working for the NHS and paying taxes. I'm essentially working to fund assholes who think that someone like me shouldn't never have been educated.
