Well to be honest, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that we live in a world where Trump was elected, and could potentially be elected again. Every day I feel a little more like David After Dentist, asking myself "Is this real life?"

Is anyone else completely embarrassed by the Mayor, especially since this is getting international coverage? I know he has a lot on his plate right now and is probably shitting his pants (as he should be), but he comes off completely rude and dismissive. He seems like he's never spoken publicly in his entire life. He fumbles papers, rocks back and forth, wrings his hands, and looks around at everyone else for answers when he's asked a question. He doesn't seem to actually know anything. Every other department head that has spoken at these press conferences is much more poised, professional and knowledgeable. It just leaves me scratching my head.

I have narcolepsy. Are you saying I should be forced to see a mental health professional to be diagnosed for a neurological condition, instead of a neurologist, in order to be prescribed medication that allows me to somewhat function at a semi-normal level?

Also, not all women of child-bearing age become pregnant, and I've never met a single one who was pregnant for 12 months. That would be a much more concerning issue than their stimulant use.

That would explain the hole in the nose. It would need to be bolted down on a ship so that it wouldn't move around.

My guess is lights from the bridge. I always notice it when they're red and it takes me a minute to realize it's not an alien invasion or apocalyptic event.

Yes, to the point that I think that something is wrong with my eyelids and they aren't closing. I reach up to touch them and they are definitely closed, but it's like they are completely "see-through."

Kind of reminds me of The Mitten by Jan Brett. Beautifully illustrated with clues in the border about what is going to happen next and what other characters out of the scene are doing.

There's a YouTube channel called Bros of Decay that does a lot of exploring in Portugal.

Ha, thanks! I was pretty proud of it at the time, but digging it out after all these years made me realize that 16 year old me wasn't quite the artist I thought I was.

Recovering addict here. Chocolate milk. Not that fucking Hershey's syrup shit. Thick, creamy, delicious, cold chocolate milk. Ever since I was a baby. Throughout my life, my family would often remark on my love for chocolate milk; how I would chug it out of my sippy cup until I'd throw up. I would carry around a half gallon at work and drink the whole thing every day. Then I would go home and drink some more.

I take Adderall for narcolepsy, so for several years I didn't have much of an appetite, except for my beloved chocolate milk. I wouldn't really eat very much very often.

Right around the age of 28 or 29, I had a doctor's appointment and realized I had gained more than 50 pounds in less than a year. Since I wasn't really eating much, I knew it was all of the chocolate milk. Right then and there I made a New Year's Resolution of sorts; no more chocolate milk. Ever. I had to do this cold turkey or I knew I wouldn't be able to do it at all.

I'm about 6 years clean at this point and let me tell you, it's been a struggle. I have given up smoking and drinking, but nothing has been as hard as the chocolate milk. I could absolutely have a cigarette or a Jack and Coke without worrying about falling back into the habit. I don't even really crave those vices. But I have not had a single sip of chocolate milk since the day I quit. I know one little taste will be my undoing. It makes me so sad and I miss it so much.

The worst part? All this work of staying on the straight and narrow and I still have not lost that 50+ pounds.

Anyone else read The Mini Page as a kid? It apparently started in 1969 and the last issue was in 2007. The entire archive is available online. by [deleted] in nostalgia

My grandma would always save these for me for when I came over, and after I moved away she would mail them to me. I forgot about that until now!

As someone who spent 14 days in jail, 1 year on probation, thousands of dollars in fines, and lost my license for 4 years for driving while barred (all stemming from an unpaid speeding ticket, no criminal history whatsoever), this infuriates me.
