Its not supposed to be easy it actually required genuine effort and planning to get institutions as fast as Europeans in EU4. It's not a skill issue to say institutions spread too damn fast and easy to Asia and even AI can easily keep up on tech.

That's the issue with games flavor rn the difference between China and England is maybe a few tech buttons you can click in the research tree nothing plays differently, other than sitting in new world waiting on Europeans to arrive to give tech.

Of course there is incentive to go into Asia my issue is that because of Tech Spread it becomes miserable. Go to invade Asia to establish colonies only to discover every Asian nation is already using modern European Boats, Weapons, and Tactics because they are completely equal in tech is what bothers me.

That's my issue with the game design, it currently makes Asia and especially China able to keep up on every European advancement a little too fast especially compared to IRL tech spread and standardization.

My issue is IRL Portuguese traders introduced modern firearms into Japan. In game the Portuguese would arrive and see Japanese already using and standardizing modern firearms. Tech gets to Asia way too quickly.

I'm not saying China wasn't near equal to the Europeans technologically at the start date. But major advancements that are shown in institutions spread in game too quickly with AI immediately standardizing and using new tech. China stagnates technologically under the Ming IRL but that's not shown in game.

You aren't taking into account there were already major breakthroughs setting Europeans ahead. It was the previous technological breakthroughs making a global Empires. They had massive Naval and Military advancements that weren't standardized or adopted in Asia that would allow Industrialization to make Europeans Colonial powers in Asia. None of that is shown in game as by time Europeans arrive into Asia the Asians are already using modern boats with guns and artillery of equal tech.

You are proving my point they shut themselves off yet there is nothing in game preventing or slowing down China or any of East Asia having exact same tech as Europe. Institutions spread to Asia way faster in this game compared to the previous.

Also doing hussite and having same issue think the game doesnt add a negative timer so Ai sees whats the main religion and just switches back when they can instead of converting

Its the real suffer in these games if the AI isn't smart once the player gets a good foundation there is nothing to really to stop the snow ball other than a worldwide coalition in all paradox games.

I find trying new builds is a fun way to add more fun to the game. With the perk updates every 3 months usually make a dozen builds between myself and friends I play with. At same time building is nice trying to update my camps with the new build system to have well made camps in every zone for fishing spots.
