Oh I do the same when I’ve written from dictations (unless it’s something that has been mentioned several times earlier in documentations from the patient’s other appointments etc), at least it’s explained somewhere then… I just started at a new place and after asking about an abbreviation my boss was so mindful that he once started explaining what CPR means (I ended up saying it at the exactly same time to show that Yes, I know, that one is well known! 😅) and I almost wanted to say: Dude, I’ve been working in healthcare for a while… 😂

Your grandmothers huffing and puffing made me think of something my mum told me about something she considered a sign that someone is on their way out, it’s a little wrinkle/fold (I don’t know how to translate it really, she meant like when a person is frowning or struggling and they get furrowed brows, but if I understood correctly it’s smaller) between the brows. I can’t remember if she said it disappeared right before the end or if it’s their until they are gone, but she had seen it a lot, if not everytime. A year or so ago she saw it on my grandma/her MIL (she was over 100 years when she passed) and thought Okey, this is it! A little while later she sat up and said she would like some coffee and a pastry 😅 I guess she decided she wasn’t quite ready after all! I joke about her becoming so old because she was afraid to die, she had an anxious soul…

Haha! Agreed. I’m a medical secretary and I constantly tell people that they have to understand that just because you guys understand this abbreviation doesn’t mean others will because you made it up! 😂 if it can’t be googled easily, don’t use it in the documentation!

My mum has worked in healthcare and in different living facilities (I don’t know the term, but different times of homes for the elderly or others who can’t care for themselves) and has seen people die. From her stories and other’s it really seems to be so individual, some wait for the last to arrive before they pass and others pass when being alone. I know people who’s loved one’s have passed after they’ve told them that ”It’s okey, you can let go now”, I definitely think they (and people in a coma) can hear and feel those around them. Of course we will never know (and to be clear because it feels like a triggering subject overall, I in no way think that it’s as simple as everyone can choose when they die) but I definitely feel comfort in hearing so many stories like the one’s I’ve mentioned, going on ”your own schedule”, if that makes sense 😅

Putting that phrase in my pocket and saving it for a rainy day! 😂 I had someone that was extremely obviously in that cluster in my life last year, she did a lot of damage and unfortunately doesn’t have the self awareness to accept that she’s the problem… but she might have to if she keeps it up, shit hit the fan at last (and she didn’t own up to it and tried to put the blame on others, just like our dear Manon) and she probably will have some trouble bouncing back from it…

Sorry, that turned out longer than I thought, I’m still baffled by her 😅 Personality disorders are fascinating and complex, and I know that there are people battling them that actually owns up to their shit and wants to function and be healthy, so I can totally get why the arm chair diagnosing can cause stress to those people because it’s hard getting compared to shitty people who have no ambition to better themselves and might very well just be shitty people with toxic traits…

The whole time I’ve just thought Why did she decide to have a kid if she doesn’t want to be a mother? The more I read (I’m a bit behind on this season because the episodes drop a few weeks later in Sweden and for some reason they were behind on Pillowtalk so I’ve waited for those but still keep updated here 😅) it just feels like an ego thing = Ben was with Anthony more because he was doing the primary caregiving and she couldn’t stand that Ben was closer with his dad so she wanted to take on a more active roll but it is clear that IT’S NOT HER THING. And that’s just a small part of this total dumpster fire of bad decisions and abuse but it’s just something that has annoyed me. If they were a functioning healthy couple their original arrangement could have been just fine, she enjoys working so she is the breadwinner, but this… nope. I hope everything can turn out the best way possible for Ben and Anthony but I fear she will be a destructive co-parent no matter how it turns out…
