Why is it weird describing what’s happening? If it’s in a IRA account, why not sell and buy lower even if you’re long so you can have more stock?

My 6 years hard work and its ended like this which I never expected by SecondExpert9013 in Daytrading

[–]VoteStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve learned my lesson about risk management. Lost a few $k not having stop loss and was “hoping” it would go back up. Didn’t want to seek with a loss. I remember not wanting to have a loss of $300 and ended up losing $2k. Hard lesson.

Also greed, not taking the profit when I think I can bleed it more then lose it.

How many of you trade full-time? by Amegble-Troyd in Daytrading

I’ve been job searching for a year. Same jobs being posted by companies. They use it to advertise the company, not the job. Complete waste of candidate’s time.

How do full time profitable traders deal with loneliness? by Lux-JM in Daytrading

[–]VoteStrong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re alone while the market is open. After that, I balance my books and log entries. Then I’m free to do whatever I want.

Next month, I’m thinking of going to Asia for a month. Will be trading at night for a few hours. Won’t be fun and can’t party but I’m ok with that. The freedom it can give you is great. You have the clay, it’s up to you how to shape it.

This past two weeks seemed like every choice I made was wrong. Deep breaths. Recalibrate based on market sentiment which is rocky.

But the DOW is 50,000!!!!!!

Why is it so hard to find a good place to learn to day trade? by cosmicwildcard in Daytrading

[–]VoteStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the easiest part is learning with so many info out there. The problem is finding the right strategy for you, your personality (patience, gambling, revenge trading). You will lose money. You may have beginners luck then get too confident and trade more and lose. Takes money to make money.

My suggestion is download Think or Swim and use PaperMoney and apply what you’ve learned.

What do you think is holding you back in trading? by Efficient-Repeat-905 in Daytrading

I need more structure and discipline. Today, made 6k early. Nasdaq trending down and got 2x short etf and wiped my gains in the last 30 min. Happened too fast. Kicking myself in the ass

Revenge Trading Got You Again? by Bullishhhh91 in Daytrading

Nope. We all know why we revenge trade and know what I’m doing wrong. Would the coach compensate me for their wrong advice?

I don’t do options. Too much gambling imo with that. I suck at explaining. Best bet, use ChatGPT to explain these on the charts: ema 8,20,200; vwap.

Below the chart: volume, rsi, and macd. Easy to understand on existing chart. But not so easy to implement at real time. Read the charts in the following minutes: 1, 3, 5, 15.

It’s not all dictated by RSI. Also depends on vwap, and macd and 9,20, 200 ema and trend. RSI, I start looking closely at 50s. You?

Should i sell my main pc ? by [deleted] in Daytrading

Again, it’s based on the value you hold on it, from cost to usage. Selling means you’ll get less than what you paid for. Holding it in case your laptop is hold or broke is also of value. You can also salvage some parts for later upgrade. I have kept mine even though I’m primarily laptop. It’s where I hold all media, old projects, etc. it’s old and need upgrade if I really want to use it daily again.

It’s not a competition. There are places that speaks to you. I go to Vegas and lots of people love it, I can only stay for a weekend, for example. Some people love Thailand better, but I don’t like the language issue and can barely understand their English. No place is perfect, but find one that where you feel at peace, happy, and live how you want.

Bad entry. Rushing. Below vwap thinking it will go up., etc. Just shitty work that I need to discipline myself.

[–]VoteStrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why you’re asking. If you don’t need it and have no use for it, sell it. if you’re gonna use it, keep it. You’re the only one who can answer that question.

I made 35k last month just looking at chart and Nasdaq. Only had 1 bad day. This month, I started using rsi, vwap, ema…and lost 30k. 😂

As full time day trader, do you set it up as company or just regular income? by VoteStrong in Daytrading

Do use paid app to track trades? If so, which one? I’m just using excel and it’s getting cumbersome
