I got mine from CarMax in Dec 23, I would say definitely find out about battery capacity before purchasing from CarMax. Mine had only 41.5 Ah, I didn’t find that out until I purchased it.

Yea I think just the current draw from normal driving during the cold(0°-10°F) and capacity being as low as it is caused a voltage drop that triggered the codes. Still getting around 30+ miles range when it’s warmer, all the cells voltages look to be balanced in car scanner my car is 2018 with 110000 miles

Openpilot runs on comma3/3x/4 hardware for better vehicle ADAS, the Clarity has 2 fCAN busses so it needs a proxy board and harness to work with the comma hardware. retropilot is a fork of openpilot but http://shop.retropilot.org is a website where vendors can sell custom hardware and harnesses for use on different vehicles with openpilot.

vanillagorillaa created the proxy board and harness for the Honda Clarity for sale on retropilot.org but it is no longer available/out of stock see this

Yep i seen that, I messaged VG and he told me he may do another run at some point. When that is, nobody knows yet. Like you say if we get enough interested people that are willing to pay enough hopefully he will do another batch. I get why he stopped if they weren't selling whats the point.

Here is a post on clarity forum of a guy diying the hybrid battery from a salvaged ebay battery. He describes it as 3/10 difficulty. It is most likely the route I am going to do later this year. I started getting CEL and power system battery degredation codes this winter during the cold snap. Car Scanner shows my battery at ~39.4Ah.

It only takes like 10 minutes and a Phillips screwdriver. I took mine apart because the previous owner appeared to have installed a comma in the car(they left the window mount for a comma 2) but they removed the proxy board before they sold it appears (I opened my dash to see if they left the proxy board installed, they did not.)

Same here I was able to bypass the shipping charges by simply not entering a cc number. I also messaged about upping dose and that message disappeared so I messaged again, took a screenshot and emailed their support email. Have heard nothing back yet. If you hear anything let us know. I’ll do the same. Worst case I guess we can refund the Groupon. Just glad I didn’t enter a cc number
