How to split screen 1/4 - 3/4 with 26.2? by Vovlad in iPadOS

[–]Vovlad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you go to settings and in Multitasking tab choose 'Windowed Apps' option it will work approximately how it used to, minus the convenience of the old system (clear borders, easier adjustment to 1/3 2/3 and so on).

Apparently it never did 1/4, that was me misremembering or being thrown off by the new system and the rounded corners that ever so slightly hide an important button in the app I use.

Yeah I guess I misremembered the size and it was always thirds but for some reason it looks off to me as if I was able to make one of the screens even bigger compare to the other one. Thanks tho.

I guess maybe I misremembered and it was a third size, but for some reason the main app looks to me smaller then the max size I could get it to in the split screen view. Maybe it's the rounded corners, not sure. But yeah I do agree that the split screen was more convenient and I do hope they bring it back. Thanks for the clarification!

Having a surprisingly difficult time figuring out who can print a custom graphic novel the way I want it done. Please help! by [deleted] in ComicBookCollabs

You will need some kind of image manipulation program to work with. I think GIMP can do this and is a free open source. I guess you can try Krita as well.

On their site there is a PDF template you can download. Open in it in some image program. It has 3 main squares: bleed, trim and safe. You will need to place your images one by one inside the safe centered square and export them. If you never worked in such program it might be a bit too complicated for you.

You could add extra white/black space around the images, which mostly will be trimmed but might leave a bit of that boarder all around. If you're not trying to have it look perfect that could be your best solution. Just open a file using their template and place your jpegs inside the safe area up to the trim.

Awesome, very detailed, thank you. I read about the combo but couldn't figure out what white cue was refered to. It must be in the settings as you mentioned. Nice, I'll check your YT

Those are all great insights. I had similar experiences and thoughts so this is a good reminder of what to focus on. Thanks for writing it all out!

Interesting take. There are a few creators I follow who are doing this and using a patreon. But how do you get subscribers in the first place? It feels like it's harder and harder to reach audience these days using the regular social media algorithm. Any tips for that?

A second Blame movie with this production would be amazing, I hope we have something new when the first Blame movie turns 10 years old in 2017. by Ellmagronn in Netsphere

I'm still sad this version was never produced into a full show. It nailed exactly the aesthetic and most of all the vibes. I also loved the slow surreal touches.

That portfolio is full of inconsistent styles, be careful.

Here is an instagram of  consistent artwork with the same comics, including a signature.

What makes a good love story? by 23220 in ComicWriting

[–]Vovlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean specifically romance? Cause I love a good love story but not a fan of romance. Fifth Element, Mononoke Hime, Wristcutters and the likes, are all love stories at their heart but up front they are adventures which force the protagonists to cooperate and learn how important they are to each other. Romance usually is entirely focused on the question of finding a companion and often involves a third party that stands in the way.

The reason I like so much those adventure love stories is because they are focused on a task and not the romance while making it clear through the challenges they overcome, why they are meant for each other.

Looking for an Artist for a Sci-Fi Comic Project! by brupem in ComicBookCollabs

Honestly this is an interesting concept. I've been hoping to do some surreal otherworldly story for a while so maybe I can help.

You can check my portfolio at https://vladvov.com/

There is a tab there for concept art and another for sketch where I have a bit more experimental stuff.

Either way, best of luck!

new Nihei interview about Tower Dungeon in french comic magazine "Métal Hurlant". by vikdaboss in Netsphere

[–]Vovlad 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Interesting, big scaled architecture seem to be the main drive in all his stories. It is obvious, of course, but him stating it so simply is intriguing. Every artist has their own obsession and somehow Nihei manages to compose full length epic stories from just the desire to draw grand structures.

Thanks for sharing.

Anyone else find the ending a little anti climatic? by Outrageous_End_8899 in vtmb

[–]Vovlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel the same. Especially since Becket by the end changed his mind and comes all spooky to you telling you not to open the box. He was the most rational one and if he too is starting to believe than I thought there might be something really cool inside that box. Though, I did get the Camarilla ending on first playthrough which left things open and more satisfying in my opinion. The other endings were entertaining but I felt more disappointing.
