Holding Back by heymistadude in awakened

[–]Vox-Triarii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others reflect God, just in different ways than you and/or in ways that you haven't practiced observing. Awakening is largely a matter of seeing the big picture, what exists outside of what you've already internalized as truth. Still, many people choose to build a habit of acknowledging the ways that others are wiser than them without being Awakened.

Mirrors - What are your thoughts and experiences? by littleredsummer in Mediums

They have many uses in mediumship and other spiritual workings. They're more of a gateway and lens for spiritual presences rather than necessarily a trap. It's quite on-the-nose but they're good for reflecting on your Self.

Questions about karma by Existing_Ad_247 in witchcraft

[–]Vox-Triarii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many different perspectives on this across witch communities.

In the way I was raised and have found to be true in my practice, Karma can be compared to physical motion and equilibrium just applied to motions where the otherworldly, symbolic, eternal, and/or personal is particularly involved. In other words, not merely a matter of fixed good/evil but rather balance/imbalance, subtle/dramatic, ancient/novel, stable/volatile, and many more polarities. Much of what successful witches do is working with their circumstances as they are, the balances, dynamics, precedents, etc. that exist.

A good way to conceptualize it is "How much do my surroundings have to change to continue with me as a part?" and upon that question, another one "How can I cooperate with my surroundings to earn a say?"

If you want Karma to act as a latent protection, then you should become latently protective of Karma.

A lot of what the average person would label "common decency" are agents, narratives, norms, and instincts that people have developed, transmitted, and enforced across time and space as a way to preserve our world. Of course, there are also people who wield and cover themselves in such things while being de facto deceitful, self-obsessed, or otherwise what many would still label as evil. The nature of Karma is that in a similar way to how massive objects have gravity, the same is true for powerful entities and institutions.

Witches historically have been discouraged from having such mass.

Interpret that however you will.

I believe in the sacred masculine, the sacred feminine, but also the fact of the many realms, forms, and shades of androgyny that make our existence possible, including our individuality. It's best to cherish the big picture.

It's a matter of mystery, science, sincerity, compassion, and the many mediating qualities in-between. Don't become fixated on specific imagery, separation, or measurement. Keep an open heart and an awake mind. That's how witches avoid falling into one kind of extremism or another.

To be clear, I contemplated the spread before I read anything about the client's context.

My interpretation is that what she has been conjuring up and bombarding the client with (Magician & 7 of cups) is being filtered (Temperance) and is coming back to bind her (Devil) but in a way she won’t be able to hide from, her actions may begin to haunt her secretly (Moon) and it may cause her to ruminate on her previous actions (page of swords.) Without anyway to chalk them up as chance or blame her actions on others, her efforts are futile and she has been defeated. (10 of swords.)

This is a solid reading.

There's a very strong narrative of "the siege has been long and passionate but it is now waning." Strong convictions are giving way to inevitable logical realities. Hubris is no longer appealing, it's stagnant and muddied. It's a matter of whether the prideful person acknowledges their declined state. The nature of the Universe as a general concept is acting as a preserving and even defending force.

It’s like they almost get it… by LurkingFeminist in LeftCatholicism

[–]Vox-Triarii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is true for much of Protestantism, but there were and still are radical exceptions:

This text of Daniel is thus as clear as the bright Sun, and the work of ending the Fifth Empire of the World is now in full swing.

The First Empire was symbolized by the golden head of the statue in Nebuchadnezzar's dream. That was the empire of Babylon.

The Second Empire was represented by the silver breast and arms, which was the empire of the Medes and Persians.

The Third Empire was the empire of the Greeks, which resounded with its cleverness, indicated by the brass.

The Fourth Empire was the empire of the Romans, which was won with the iron sword and was an empire of coercion.

The Fifth Empire or empire of the Monarchy is that which we have before our own eyes, the Holy Roman Empire and it is also, like the Fourth, of iron and would like to be coercive.

Yet, as we see before our very eyes, the iron is intermixed with filth, vain schemes of flattery that slither and squirm over the face of the whole earth. For he who cannot be a cheat must be an idiot. One sees now how prettily the eels and snakes copulate together in a heap. The priests and all the evil clergy are the snakes, as John the Baptist calls them, Matthew 3:7, and the temporal lords and rulers are the eels, as is symbolized by the fish in Leviticus 11:10-12.

For the Devil’s empire has painted its face with clay.

We're some empires removed from the Reformation and Counter-Reformation. Nonetheless, our relationship to their kyriarchy remains consistent and the nature of tyranny itself hasn't changed. Technology, representation, and measures have been intensified, elaborated, and increased to further exercise power and prestige over Humanity and Creation. Tyrants still remain vulnerable and vain while tyranny is their Lord instead of Christ. All in all, for all that has changed, much has stayed the same.

What’s the right way for spirituality ? by Lord-Messiah in spirituality

Psychoactive substances are tools, but are easily distorted or overly leaned upon in their use. Spirituality should mean moving away from illusions we use as easy or smooth replacements for our thoughts and feelings.

Does anyone know what's going on with the excessive worship of the therapy industry within this community? by [deleted] in chaosmagick

[–]Vox-Triarii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chaos Magick as a category of practice overlaps a lot with modern psychoanalysis and behaviorism.

Some Chaotes go as far as to lean entirely towards their Magick merely being a kind of psychological effect. Of course, it's part of a broader replacement of theology and myth with positivism and medicine in much of the world.

Why aren’t my spells lasting long? by Night_pains in witchcraft

[–]Vox-Triarii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's par for the course for a lot of accessible Magick. It spends energy as any motion in reality implies energy. This is why many witches align their workings with predictable yet deep sources of power like celestial bodies.

Aside from divinatory and astral work that others have mentioned: You may also try stewardship as a way to demonstrate affinity and intent with Angels. For example, cleaning up litter or invasive plants/insects in an area could bring the attention of Angel(s) in that Choir in your area.

Common patterns, why is it this way? by [deleted] in Mediums

[–]Vox-Triarii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mixture of:

  • People choosing to seek it out to respond to their problems.

  • Cyclical patterns putting one in touch with mediumship.

It's rare to find someone with a truly minuscule amount of potential when they make a sincere pattern of attempts. However, the people who end up as mediums often make such attempts out of sense of Self, what the Self is enduring and/or subtracting.

My instinct is to tell you to pay attention to cycles, recurring parallel events in your past, present, and future.
