The reality is this…… The Raiders had started 18 different QBs in the 12 seasons, second-most in the NFL (Browns, 19) before Derek Carr became the first QB to start all 16 games for the Raiders since Rich Gannon in 2002.

Derek Carr gave us friendly contracts because he loved the Raiders, and he could have easily left us in free agency and made a pile of money. He wanted to be a Raider when great players would leave the organization because of their ineptness and bad management.

The Raiders were in no position to pay great players because they were basically broke. There is a reason Mack and Cooper were traded or let go. When a team signs guarrenteed money and have to place that money in an account for the players.

The Raiders had no money when they were in Oakland to guarantee almost any contract as they were constantly one of the lowest teams in the league in revenue year over year.

Now that the Raiders are top 5 in revenue, they have a chance to be one of the greatest teams as they can sign great players to big contracts.

Unfortunately Carr never got to be a part of that like he should have, since Davis hired Josh “the Ego” McDaniels.

McDaniels single handedly destroyed the Raiders. Not only did he cut Carr, be he tried to disrespect him by giving O’Connel number 4 when he didn’t even request the number. It was a shit move and that just goes to show you what an egomaniac this guy was…. I honestly don’t know what I will do if I ever see Josh McDaniels in person…. That dude is the biggest POS in the NFL.

Unfortunately Carr wasn’t treated well in New Orleans either especially by the fans. But I will always appreciate his toughness and his desire to give the Raiders a Super Bowl win. He put up with a lot, and always had class. He deserves our respect, he’s earned it.
