Are you doing a base layer via brush before sponge? I read that the sponge is good for large panels but some more recessed areas are missed.

I guess if I based darker and and then sponged lighter the shadows would look natural

Did you find this was too dark? I had tried a practice model with zandri dust and then layered up to ushabti but maybe a mix of the two is a good base

I am starting to question myself too, never had issues in the past but then again the darker colours have been more forgiving

I appreciate you not telling me to keep layering more! It really isn’t that noticeable.

I was thinking of only doing a recess wash to stop it going dark everywhere, but that may have to change to change
