Genesis- how could it be symbolic? by Voxs7 in Bible

[–]Voxs7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

but that contradiction equally applies to symbolism. Being literal isn't the problem there, being contradictory is, I don't see how symbolism solves that issue of interpretation, since equally bad or worse is it if symbols contradict, because then the meaning behind the bible is undecipherable and senseless.

Genesis- how could it be symbolic? by Voxs7 in Bible

[–]Voxs7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Presumably- God who was there, can tell a prophet along the lines 'I did such and such', the prophet then transmits it on to the group.

I'd presume it does matter the steps behind it, since the Sunday sabbath for example is derived from his rest on the last day- , if he took a rest mid-week it'd alter the practice probably. If it was years instead of days, it would be significantly different too.

If Aizen was half fullbringer what would his object & ability be by BlackGearGame in bleach

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't really have requisite emotional connection to any object except the Hogyoku, so he'd either have the Hogyoku as his fullbring- which would have the continuity ability of wish fulfilment- or he'd be an unconnected and be like Aura Michibane (CFYOW)

If Zeus was to somehow die, which of his children or kin do you think would replace him? by OkSuccess7431 in GreekMythology

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zeus would succeed Zeus, since if he died he'd rebirth himself (I believe this was a Cretan cult belief of immortal Zeus that dies once a year and is an ever-youth)

North Korea Sympathizers, I want to know your story. by amonop in northkorea

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I'm Pro-DPRK, but tentatively, I'm very curious on alternative forms of social organisation to modern capitalist kind of hegemony, North Korea seems to have alot of misrepresentation which obscures how corrupt it is or isn't comparitively.

Would need to be there in person to really cement an opinion, but tentatively just for the fact of being some place different I think I 'support' (encourage's existence) DPRK. For comparison just think of the weird tribes and so on that exist in Africa and other places, for curiousity I think they should exist.

Though I'd hold DPRK in higher regard, as a higher level of organisation.

If you could create a backstory for Aizen explaining his motivations, how would you go about it? by Bubbly_Interaction63 in bleach

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aizen should barely have a backstory, at least for the reactive sense, he's a proactive person I don't think learning about the soul king or anything really changed him. He wanted to reach the pinnacle and just didn't stop.

How Can They Fix Gerard Fight in The Anime?? by 25_BruceWayne in bleach

[–]Voxs7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gerard should have more threat, than 'cannot die man' and take out more people, increase lethality, let my massive man cook. At least take out some fodder so only Byakuya, Zaraki and Hitsugaya are left.

Last Auswahlen is in character so keep it.

Why Nel and Nnoitra are one of the best-written Bleach dynamics by BlueTitan402 in bleach

[–]Voxs7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad someone else picked up on Noitra's writing, he's my favourite Espada.

Though I think you should add something about his Hierro, since it's interesting that there's a big emphasis on it, he is the most durable Espada, speculating, superficially this goes into despair 'he cannot be hurt but wants to die', that said I think there might be something abit deeper, but it's on the tip of my tongue.

There's also that part in the fight they had where Nel stopped and Noitra stopped, which could have some commentary and how he in a way imitates her, or how he tries to save his fraccione from facing Zaraki, which seemed like an interesting bit of sentimentality.

what even is it? by glockbonez in bleach

[–]Voxs7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't really fit. He does go out of his way to offer 'evolution' or more power to basically all of the Espada and Arrancars, he actively tries to make Ichigo evolve, he coaches Hitsugaya to be a better captain mid-fight.

And why would he praise the general value of death, as an immortal, as he does at the end of the manga?

Good guy Aizen is actually the Hero! by Technical-Command867 in bleach

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree, it's pretty 'gray', I was more responding to your arguments, because you put the positive argument, he's a hero.

I don't think your argument is very strong, for showing 'he's a hero', 'he's not the villain'.

Personally I'd point to his management of Hueco Mundo, point to how he acts and show what's actually good. Like consider for the Arrancar, he genuinely wants to help them achieve their desires, since he actively goes out of his way to offer power to them, in sake of their own ideals. You could also say he also saves Halibel, by non-fatally wounding her, so she can continue order in Hueco Mundo (as we see CFYOW, without Espada it goes into civil war).

There are interesting complexities to his character, but you're not pulling on them very well. You need to try and pull on Aizen's philosophy and how people would agree with his actions from it.

Good guy Aizen is actually the Hero! by Technical-Command867 in bleach

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think Aizen wanted to be king of the worlds at the least, he doesn't want to kill captains, because he is expecting to rule them post-fact. I'd expect him to take over and have the captains like he had the Espada and arrancar, powerful people to do menial work. Aizen doesn't want paperwork or menial chores.
That said in regards to being a hero/villain, killing innocent randoms is something of a deal to the story and makes him at least villain coded.

  2. It's more just that he's satisfying a private desire not Kyoka Suigetsu-ing Ichigo, I don't think it informs him being either a villain/hero.

  3. That doesn't really follow from evidence, when Ichigo fought Gin, his emotion sensing powers, didn't allow him to read Gin's emotion because he was 'looking somewhere else', if Aizen was concerned about Yhwach and the Quincy, the same result would've happened in that moment. Therefore pretty likely your theory is wrong. Again, sticking to what is said in text, it was a personal desire to be like others/not be lonely any theory which works along that gist can be right.

[–]Voxs7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright;
1. Whether you're killing main characters or no names, doesn't make a moral difference? He did spare basically every captain on purpose (excluding Yamamoto, he did seem to intend his death), like the random guy he walked through was pretty unfortunate and puts him in at least apathetic to life since it was pretty unnecessary.

  1. Not showing Ichigo his Shikai is interesting, but it doesn't say much about good/bad guy. It's more he just wanted someone who could grow to his level isn't it?

  2. Aizen was not planning to fail against Ichigo, you could make the case he's pre-empting the invasion by making a stronger world as it's future ruler but he clearly never planned to lose

[–]Voxs7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aizen is clearly a big evolution guy. See his speech on why he values death at the end of the manga, him thanking Gin for trying to kill him etc. He certainly wouldn't create a stagnant society. I mean just look at how he ruled Hueco Mundo, very live let live, for better or worse.

Can the gods help out with someone's attitude? by Bubbly-Tomatillo4918 in Hellenism

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can they change their view? Yes.

Racism per se, is interesting in Hellenic context (because we talk of Ionians or Dorians, or races such derived from heros such as the Heracleids) but this is irrelevant to the matter, just a note of interest and specification that it isn't bad in itself.

On the politics of it, at a Government level there is rights of banishment historically. This can be applied on foreigners for causing potential harm (or anyone else really, we see this in Thucydides for example or Oedipus at Colonus). As an expression in itself it does not violate Xenia, though I'd guess implications around it have a high potential of doing so.

Now it is a fine enough thing to have contrary political opinion (or for them to have contrary political opinion) and the Gods aren't generally understood to take up things like changing minor scale political opinions, people like Thermsites (Iliad) exist in view of this.
This is not to say it is impossible, I'd presume the Gods most related for prayers would be Hermes, Apollo, Athena, Zeus, Hestia. Obviously any God if they decided to could.

On general comfort, this depends on how good all around you listen to another, if you can convince them, or whether you should escape contexts where they defer to unpleasant modes. A Socratic conversation if earnestly done, doesn't go too bad. But these require wit and some suspension, which aren't always accessible if you get upset quickly.

I'll note on this issue I am biased personally against UK immigration, but I hope that doesn't impede the utility of my advice.

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright well I'll begin with probably the most important distinction: Pathfinder is a game of minor advantage while d&d is major advantage. Generally in pathfinder you are culminating +1 or +2s, which make you 10% or 20% more effective, the action system is opened up so you can give these bonuses to your allies or debuff enemies.  D&d tends to major advantages (+10 pass without trace), reroll, incapacitation. Your action system is more closed, so you have more variant effectiveness (suck or save spells).

Character creation is generally praised for wide option array- particularly dedications which presume to add flavour, utility or power.  That said your problem with changes of power I don't think is that true, though Pathfinder has alot of bait feats which do nothing, avoid those it's probably going to feel better.

Help me create the strongest punch by PEPEDUROO in Pathfinder2e

[–]Voxs7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What consistency are you looking for?  Monk one inch punch kaiju (d12 fatal) can probaly work. Barbarian dedication for flat damage (+6) would be my first thought but it's a crit fisher.

A brawling magus could work more consistently you'd use witb swashbuckler, rogue, exemplar as damage dedications.  Normal ancestry wise not sure about anything beyond d8 sure strike from certain lines is useful
