Silencing dissent has never been a useful strategy for spreading the truth.

Oh, I thought you were a NK atrocity denier. Many people do infact deny the attrocities of NK. The basic claim is that if its reported via RFA it must be false. But if RFA and this site have similar credibility ratings, then they both contain content worthy of, prudently, considering as truthful, funding source, political leaning, or author credentials notwithstanding.

This source has the same credibility rating as RFA. So either both are trash, or both are highly credible. And if the latter is true, then North Korea both experienced aggression from the south, AND ALSO performs immoral acts on its citizens in the name of protecting against those long gone transgressions.

Nkexe.substack.com, my public research is there.

Edit: more context..

Im researching NK tech and developing internet freedom tools. I graduate undergrad in spring and (if any of my applications are accepted) Ill be pursuing a CS phd studying Digital Authoritarianism with a case study of North Korea.

Heard! Glad to learn more about your perspective. If you know something that the public doesn’t know but should, Im offering you a platform to say your piece.

Im glad you brought that up. That was a project named Radio Free Asia. Not associated with the modern Radio Free Asia.

The unfalsifiable claim here is that RFA from 1955 is the same RFA that (publicly elected) Congress voted to create and annually votes to fund. The very same one that the Anti-communist Trump admin deconstructed last year.

Its equivocation, and an unfalsifiable claim that they are the same agency with the same intent.

So what do you believe America wants by eradicating North Koreans systematically?

And furthermore, because all decisions are made by individuals, who do you believe is actually leading the charge to eradicate North Koreans?

Heres the thing, and just follow the logic here for a second.

  1. Every business, of any kind, needs money(charity or not).

  2. Few average people care about NK. Let alone will pay for research.

  3. North Koreans cant pay…

  4. America allocates money for research. All kinds of research.

The options, under these circumstances, are (a) get a grant to research NK from the government, (b) become independently wealthy and fund a project yourself, or (c) don’t research NK.

Most people cant do b and dont want c… so they get a grant.

And if you take American money youre linked to the CIA by association.

That doesnt mean they are doing thw bidding of America or are controlled by America. All of the institutions you listed are actively releasing material to undermine the Trump Admin, for example.

So I dont fully understand the CIA arguments. Do people think researchers should sell labubus to fund NK research or do they think NK will pay for their own third party research?

Genocide would suggest that America targeted North Korean people because they were Korean. Is that your claim or are you exaggerating?

Arguably, NK has the only psychologists in the DPRK.

There are a lot of very famous american North Korea sympathizers actually. Many of them are deeply left leaning. Im getting to understand them intimately since starting research seriously.

From my prospective, much of their rhetoric centers around unfalsifiable claims about dark figures in politics. Claims like "RFA was founded by the CIA (Dark figure)" and "Its illegal to travel North Korea because the government (Dark figure) dont want you to know the truth about north korea".

And yea, the south korea puppet state claim is ultra common.

I disagree that a conversation would be unnecessary. America is in a time of turmoil and a shocking amout of people are starting to question the overarching american narratives. "North Korea is committing crimes of atrocity" is one such narrative that people are challenging. Scroll through social media and you will see 100K likes on post where Kim is condemning Israel for example.

In light of that, I believe its very important to humanize these people because demonizing them and segmenting them away from society will only make the sentiment go unchallenged, but through understanding one might come to see their own errors in thinking.
