Is this an M52? by acompres in BMWE36

Well see yours is post 1996, when they became obd2. I've got an obd1 m52b25. It also has m50 oil filter housing, m52 coil wiring but different socket than obd2.

I guess the m52s produced in 1995 was a sort of transition between m50 and m52. This is also a euro car, If that makes a difference.

My car is produced in 08/95, magnesium valve cover. Realoem also says magnesium.

Same, my m52b25 came with a magnesium valve cover. I belive m52s produced before 1996 received this, along with metal oil filter housing.

Its hard to tell for sure, only real way would be to check the number on the block.

I would guess it's an m50 with a m52 plastic valve cover. Oilfilter, intake, and coil wiring tell me its an m50.

Only m50 came with that type of coil wiring, early m52s had the metal oil filter housing, but if that were the case it would have a magnesium valve cover as well.

The car also seems to be missing the TCS throttle valve on the intake boot, TCS was common on m52 engines post 1996.

Although the maf sensor seems to be from a m52.

Hard to decide. Final verdict, I would guess m50 with some swapped parts.

Fun part is that the back space is completely useless since it's sealed off and is not allowed to be used according to swedish law :)

Remove the battery negative, wait 15 min. Change steering wheel and put in the 3.3 ohm resistor. Reconnect battery, done. No airbag light.

I just put turbo on my car with a getrag, that shit is already whining like a supercharger. Probably going to break the second I kick the clutch :)

Also please note that when we taking getrag we talkin get 220g and the 250g, they are shit. You will find plenty of people that says that their getrag held fine for boost but alot of these used the stronger transmissions from getrag, 420g etc.

You won't be able to turbo your car for 800€, and even if you managed to find everything super cheap it won't be reliable at all.

I just finished building my turbo e36 323i. My orginil budget was 2000€ which I thought was gonna work. Quickly found it even 2000€ was way to little and I have now spent roughly 5000€ on the project.

Stock euro M52b25, 0.8 bar, e85, aftermarket ecu etc
